I love birch and barley for brunch, but had never been for a business meeting. It was perfect. Hip enough to wow the client, but the food and service also impressed. I appreciated the complimentary amuse -- delish! It was some yummy baconie pork bite with goat cheese The wine list is impressive and manageable. The food was wonderful -... More

This place caught my eye on my recent trip to Washington D.C. and I went in for an early dinner. It was almost empty at 5:30 on a weekday night so it was quiet. It was also dark. The lighting fixtures were nice but I wish they gave off a little more light. They have a very impressive beer list... More

This would be a welcome oasis if you're a serious beer lover, although one has to struggle to see the menu description because of the subdued lighting.. the place has to figure out this issue. The portions on the ala carte menu are generous, but it's a pity that one cannot order items from the set menu, as none of... More

I went on a Thursday evening at 8:30 and had a great meal. The waiter John was very friendly and professional. He gave us great tips on what to order. If you like beer this is a great place over 600 choices. We had beets as appetizers, the petite fillet and chicken. Everything was delicious, you can't go wrong at... More

had a 6pm reservation for 2. Arrived at about 5:45pm. Got seated at a corner 2 seat table. Out of ALL the tables in the restaurant, ONLY ONE table was used. We asked if we could use one of the 6 open booths. They claimed they were on hold for other reservations later on. By the time we finished eating... More

We visited on a Saturday night and sat at the counter looking into the kitchen. We ordered the chef's tasting menu. The food was awesome and the beer pairings great. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. We were so full we skipped the cheese course. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal especially someone... More

Sent by the concierge at the Jefferson Hotel we were happy to discover this gorgeous restaurant with equally fantastic ambience, service and cuisine. We were fortunate to be taken care of by server Adam and manager Jeremiah who both took a great deal of time explaining the menu. We shared some side dishes and two kinds of pasta, the cacio... This restaurant is one that will be a return venue on subsequent visits to DC. With over 600 beers available, I was able to find a rare beer from a German monastery. Chef pairs beers with menu selections. Appetizers will surprise your senses. Every dish at our table was to die for. Should have $$$ on Trip Advisor. Good for... More

Weekend dinner with some friends. According to the online reservation system, there were no tables available until 1030pm, but we thought we would take a chance at the bar. As we got there separately, the restaurant warned the first arrivers that there was a very small window of opportunity for bar seating. Upon arrival, there were a number of empty... More
