We came here recently for dinner with an old friend, and it's still great. We got the flaming cheese and plenty of other small plates, along with some excellent cocktails. The service was great too.

Food was OK, I've had better but the ambiance was lively and fun. Service was good despite the crowded tables.

We've been for brunch, lunch, and dinner on separate occasions. We recommend them for all. Everything we have tried on the menu has been, fresh, well prepared, delicious, and satisfying.

I had dinner alone at this little gem of a restaurant while on a business trip. It offers "small plates". I order 2 plates plus bread service and had more than enough food! The server recommended the sakanaki (flaming cheese...what could go wrong??!!) and scallops....More

On the afternoon we visited, we sat outdoors and found the service to be very good. The menu selection was also good - we ordered the Tzatziki, Spicy Hummus, Brussels Sprouts, Corn, Chicken Skewers & Shrimp Croquet's. The menu options have potential but the food...More

Our daughter lives in the neighborhood and we have often had take-out from here when visiting. We were looking for a place for a late light dinner. This filled the bill! It was a Monday night and the place was packed, but the service was...More

Family and I were visiting DC and tried this place out. Looks to be a hip after work hangout. Dark inside with interesting artwork on the walls. Waiter made recommendations on the amount of food to order, and he was right on. The three of...More

There were 5 of us, all ordered something different. Everyone was happy, the quantity was ample and the quality was very good. We ate at an off time, and service could have been a bit faster but otherwise it was good. Worth the stop if...More

This little gem is a tapas style concept with fantastic food. I was introduced to this place a couple years ago and every time I visit D.C., it's always on my list. Recently went on a Monday... it was Mezze Monday which allows you a...More

Cava used to be so good, but it's gone downhill drastically in the last few years and tonight was the final straw. Everything we ordered was so salty you couldn't taste anything else and even though we only ordered a few things, the bill was...More

Hi, I am so sorry for the delay - we were finally granted access to this location. We do have a rooftop and front patio, but unfortunately no real scenic view. We are on a very old beautiful street however :)

We had reservations but had a party of 6. But it seemed smaller parties were just walking in and being seated. It is small so never hurts to make reservations.

Your neighborhood Mediterranean hangout, dedicated to shared plates and culinary excellence. Find us in Rockville, DC, Clarendon, Baltimore, and Olney. Established in 2006. In the summer of 2006, long-time friends Ike Grigoropolous, Ted Xenohristos, and chef Dimitri Moshovitis came up with the idea for Cava Mezze over coffee. As three children of Greek immigrants, and life-long Rockville residents, they aimed to bring mezze-style dining of from their parents' home to their home. Despite opening their first Cava Mezze in a once desolate shopping center, the restaurant thrives as a neighborhood hangout. From hand-building tables, to smashing tiles, each founder and their family poured every ounce of their effort into making their first restaurant a success.
