This place is right near where I live - I probably go here about once a week for various reasons. What's nice about it is that it's (a) a specialty food and beverage shop; (b) a bar and grill; and (c) a community space. They...More

Soapstone Market has been a very nice addition to the Van Ness neighborhood in NW DC. Their concept of a market has evolved over time as there was less interest in fresh meats and seafood and more in prepared foods, sandwiches, soups, salads and other...More

It would remind you a places in the back of beyond in Ireland that are a bar come grocery store come meeting point. But this is hip and trendy. Bringing community back to big cities

A bit disorganized (where to order what, where to pay - frequent visits help you learn the ropes). Food, coffee, ambiance, workers - all wonderful. Go there every time we visit DC - so convenient directly across from the Days Inn

This is a very good place for light meals. It is also a market which adds a little ambiance. It is comfortable, quiet enough to be able to read, friendly. I like it and will go back.

Glad this place is just across our hotel. No fuss service, good tasting food on the go or they have a sit down place.

Solid tasting food and coffee but I've been very frustrated with the service and systems for actually purchasing your items. Would be such a great place if it weren't for that. Hope they get an efficiency expert in soon. Also a bit overpriced.
