Corn bread, bacon lollies, and potato salad w/ pickled veggies were amazing. Ribeye was cooked perfectly as ordered - very tasty. Friendly staff. Definitely a place we'll return to when in DC again.

This is not a bargain, but well worth the money for the freshness and quality of food. I had deviled eggs that came 4 ways, the best fried green tomatoes ever, and a delicious fresh cocktail that was suggested by our waiter. Interesting combinations of fresh foods - more than just salads. Good anytime of day - we ate there... More

Generally excellent food, only slightly marred by the long wait (even with reservations), disorganized waitstaff, and desserts that focus more on size than taste. A great and reasonably priced place for families, with excellent adult beverages.

There isn't a bad item from food to cocktails. Make sure to try their popcorn and save room for dessert!

It's a pretty standard menu but the preparation, presentation, quality and taste really stand out. I was really thrown for a loop by the fact that they had the best scrambled eggs I've ever had in my life. I doubt you could go wrong here.

The only place to go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Perfect, comfortable, relaxed atmosphere effortlessly furnished. The service was warm, friendly, prompt, and spot-on. Volume was perfect...not too loud, but bustling enough. There were too many delicious options to choose from, and our party of 6 enjoyed all of our choices. Make sure when visiting-- or if you are the... More

Stopped in for a quick lunch while taking in the awe inspiring Washington DC. Located close to The White House and other attractions. The food was FRESH and full of flavor. My party of 4 sampled the ribs, steak enchilada, chicken salad, and the fish and chips. Everything was as described and ordered. We will be back!! Service was A++

When we asked our hotel clerk for a recommendation for breakfast, he suggested Founding Farmers. We had heard of it and had tried to get in the night before, but the reservation openings were later than we wanted to eat. So, breakfast sounded like a good idea. Upon arriving, we checked in and were told that it would be 5... More

Description
Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
