The beef heart tartar was a big disappointment because it was very bland. The cheese plate was one of the highlights of the meal because all of the cheeses were delicious. The lamb belly gnocchi was amazing. The red wines by the glass were very good. The service here was also very good. The upstairs area of the restaurant was... More

We stopped for a glass of wine before going down the street for our dinner resevation. We ended up having a second glass because our waitress was so helpful and we enjoyed the unique decor. We enjoyed it so much that we plan to go back for dinner.

Visiting for MLK Jr. weekend and stopped in for Saturday brunch. We tried the avocado toast with poached eggs and then hangover cure which is biscuits and gravy. Also ordered a side of home fries. All items were okay but nothing really stood out. The brunch cocktails on offer all looked very sweet so we stuck to beers. Based on the... More

I was pleasantly surprised by Bar Pilar once upstairs and seated for dinner. Walking in the place feels like any old watering hole, the only glimmer of light is how knowledgeable and capable the bartenders are, I am usually an amaro-Manhattan guy - it's refreshing when the bartender offers a variety of Amaros and makes recommendations based on your choice... Great spot. Nice looking room, great food and flavors, and superior service (ask for Hillary). This place is supposedly known for its cocktails, and the menu for them was extensive and cool....but I did not partake, sticking with wine. The wines by the glass were good...not commercial stuff you see in all the junky places. The food was super, and... More

Hung out in the downstairs bar area for a fun and funky happy hour experience. Great food, nice beverage choices and attentive but not intrusive service

Two story pub restaurant, with a small plate menu (servings are larger then your typical tapas). Ordered a mix of tapas, all were very tasty. The place was hopping with diners (grad student through yuppie age) and people grabbing drinks. Busy place, great service. Would recommend for a casual dinner out.

Great food, nice cocktails, great service. The fois gras was out of this world, as was the charred octopus and duck breast. Save room for desert as well.

Friendly staff, excellent beer selection and great food. Try the lamb belly bolognese and the coconut shrimp adobo.
