we really were looking forward to a nice Argentinian restaurant and were recommended the Novecento as we were staying in Soho. The bottom line is that is was a disappointment though nothing was outrageously wrong...just all plain average. We were welcomed on a Sunday evening but a almost empty place (bad sign in NY!) a loud salsa music (why not... More

We have been dining at Novecento since the early nineties and it preserves a respectable lunch and or dinning offering. My boys came here in their strollers for their first time and now they seat at the bar. The setting is intimate and non pretentious. Their wine selection contains interesting south american options. My all time favorite is their milanesa... More

This restaurant has a menu for every taste, but mostly for those who want to have a peek at a typical Argentine fare. Although not a huge menu, the items represent a small steak house type restaurant that typically offers grilled meats (to include chicken, morcilla which is the basque style blood sausage, chorizo, and mollejas). The cuisine is typical... More

Had always liked Novecento's friendly service, great vibe and food. All of these appear to have gone out of the window in our last visit. Don't think we'll be coming again.

Friendly people, good food (I took the ceviche, steak and a flan), nice bar with good music. I had simply had a good time. I recommend it.

I was taking a friend to dinner after walking 13 miles around New York City for the day. We walked up and down a row of restaurants on the street and were undecided. I mentioned I had never liked the food in Argentina the couple times I had been in Buenos Aires, and he convinced me to try this restaurant.... More

My wife and I stopped by a very busy Novecento about 9pm on Thursday 15th Sep-16. We had already eaten so the bartender lady said we could sit at the bar and have a couple of drinks. The restaurant is really cool, kind of old skool Argentina with a nice crowd and a good ambience. We ended up staying for... More

Location is excellent and the decoration and setting has a cool antique vibe yet intimate (candles, low led lighting areas) Regarding the staff, they are not Argies but LatinAmerican. Servers met expectations on food in general. Food/wine: meats are expected to be excellent, but " meat empanadas "are the best price/quality/quantity in the area. Meat is very well condimented, handcrafted... More

The Food and service here are absolutely the star . Incredible, everything I tasted. Ravioli-YES Rigatoni w/ Bolagnese sauce-YES My only warning is that the music is very loud and electronic. I don't know why they pierce such perfection with such noise. I love dance music, but not while I'm eating. Management should make a change.

Description
The cuisine at Novecento is a refined co-existence of Argentine, Mediterranean and Pan Latin cuisines heightened by French techniques, this style is perhaps best called NUEVO BISTRO. A comfort food restaurant catering first and foremost to the neighborhood clientele. Excellent food, good value and outstanding service create an atmosphere that is sure to become a regular hang-out. This sibling of the New York's most welcoming meeting point, regardless of final destination is always Novecento. "MEET ME AT 900" Enjoy our Argentinean signature dishes, the typical Empanadas, Provoleta, Sweetbreads with a twist and flavorful grilled steaks. The menu is complimented by a great selection of wines and crafted cocktails.
