Far pricier (though still pretty reasonable), and far better and more imaginative than most local fare. Nonetheless, the food was not exceptional. My dish of chicken with cassava was delicate but not very sophisticated, as was my seafood soup. I had a mint and ginger drink that I loved, and that was so gingery it almost blew my head off... The restaurant is in one of the oldest houses in Trinidad that has been well restored and furnished with great taste. Location tight on the Plaza Major. The food is imaginative and better than most in Trinidad. The setting for the meal is just great. It's a pity that the service is so slow and uncoordinated, even if it's very... More

The House is created like a Musuem of a typical 19th century home and the dining tables are part of it. Great selection of interesting dishes, the value-for-money is good. Very good and friendly service.

Compared to other paladares in Trinidad, Sol Ananda does not have a patio, but it doesn´t need it. The place is a former colonial house, where you can dine next to beds, or see how the same beds are used as a wine cellar. The place is like a little museum and amazing itself. Regarding the food, it offers a... More

By far the best meal I had in a restaurant in Cuba. We went in because my sister is vegetarian and the menu had a variety of options for her. The service was slow but the menu had options we had seen nowhere else and we loved our meals. My sister got a vegetarian curry dish and was nervous about... More

SOL ANANDA is a colonial home built in 1750 turned into a restaurant. Dine in period furniture with beautiful linens and silverware. The food is as exquisite as the decor.

We ate dinner here on the recommendation of our tour guide. We sat in a nice courtyard with a bar while we waited to be seated. the restaurant is decorated like a colonial home. We sat in the bedroom (with bed) at 1 of 2 tables. The food was delicious. Three of us had lobster and one had shrimp and... More

By far the most ambitious menu I encountered during my two weeks in Cuba. The house / restaurant was built about 1750. The tables are interspersed with old furniture; giving the impression that you are dining in the house of that era. Service was a bit spotty. When I returned for a second visit, I was greeted with a handshake... More

Lovely setting within an old Spanish colonial house with tables in between antique furniture (even an old bed!!). Definitely the best Cuban food we had. Lovely staff. Beware there is no reservations and get there before 6.30pm unless you want to queue.

The upscale setting -- a historic mansion replete with original antique furniture and decor as well as vintage linens and tableware -- serves as a perfect backdrop for a memorable dinner of cocina de autor, or creative nouvelle cuisine, part of Cuba's emerging culinary scene. The shrimp curry was great as was the dessert. And the live music was fantastic.... More
