We purchased the salmon bagel and roasted vegetables pie to go for a picnic on the nearby hillside. Both were generously portioned and absolutely delicious. The food case of prepared food like this had mostly meat/fish items but there were a few vegetarian options as well. There are tables if you want to eat on site. We would definitely buy... More

Immaculate deli coffee shop overlooking the bay. We were here very early morning and met with a great welcome, and great coffee. Great homemade cakes as well

I stopped by at L'Escargt Rouge and picked a few pieces of pastries to take with for our long road trip. They were absolutely Super! And they were still good three days later with no refrigeration. Highly recommended.

We stopped here for lunch on return from our Akaroa Dolphins harbour cruise. We both had a "small" sausage roll each - about 75x75x50mm! (I believe the large is twice the size!) Friendly staff and plenty of tables both in and out on the sidewalk overlooking the harbour.

Excellent Pies, and bakery style food. Can recommend if you are short on time. Fairly small, so getting a table could be problematic

There are a wide ranfe of sweet and savoury options for breakfast, with a decided French twist. The service was friendly and efficient.

We bought a veggy bagel to share between two of us a large piece of cake and a large drink. Hot bagel cut in half was plenty but they had lots of choice for a lunch on the quay front. Good service and value for the money

This place reminds me of the inn keepers from Les Miserables. They charge at every nook and cranny. Whether it's 80 cents extra for a double shot of coffee (doubles are standard just about everywhere else) or more for a takeaway (takeaways are cheaper just about everywhere else). So $6.10 for a tepid, weak, cup of coffee. This would be... More

Just great coffee and pastry fresh daily. Locals are there every morning. The place is packed when cruise ships come in. Very friendly staff!
