Decent spot for a pint

Had a round-two beers with a colleague of mine in this spot. The staff is superbly polite and welcoming, knowledgeable of what's on the menu and on the tap. The bar features at least 70 different beers and they do have a strong presence of Scandinavian ones, which is a rare thing outside Scandinavia. We had some local beers (those were suggested by the waitress) and they were really good. The finger food was also quite decent and, I have to say, reasonably priced. Looking forward to visiting again!

When the owner is there who happens to baa a Chelsea supporter its the place to be. When he is not and 2 brothers serve you, you need to stay away. They told me I could only pay by card and yet I paid by cash all day and then closed the pub 2 hours early when the pub was full of hearts supporters for a game tomorrow. Sorry to say but the owner needs to sack these 2 miserable sods and take someone else on cos they should not be running a pub.

Good selection of beers!

This restaurant offers a huge variety of beers you’ll never be able to get anywhere else in Riga. Located in the heart of the old town so that you could enjoy the great architecture while dining and listen to live music all around you. Service is very friendly. Fun place to visit with your friends.

All in all great bar!

An all in all great bar! We were greated and served by a very nice waitress, food was not expensive and the actual portions of it were decent. We had great Latvian beer and the prices of it were really good considering the bar is really close to the freedom monument. Thanks again to great waitress that served us (we forgot to ask for the name).

Good food but awful pub policy!!!

The food was not bad at all and also the beers had normal prices but we were really surprised when, being a group of 9, we were asked to pay 10% more because we were a large group! All the restaurant experiences in Riga were not 100% pleasant because it seems that people here do not welcome westerners ! But here it was the worst!

What a fantastic local pub with 70 beers and good service

This pub was so good, we visited it on 4 occasions. Massive selection of Latvian and Belgian beers. Good quality service which was friendly and courteous. Bar tender was good at advising on particular beers. We also had a snack one afternoon which was tasty and of good value. On two occasions that we visited the pub it was about 5 o’clock and the pub was extremely busy with locals participating in a quiz game that looked regular and very popular. Would definitely recommend to friends that were visiting this fine City

Don’t expect any service if you’re a westerner. You’ll be kept standing at the bar while locals are served in super quick time upon entry. The 3 bar staff completely ignored me upon trying to order a drink in English on a Friday evening during the World Cup. It wasn’t even busy. Initially after ordering I thought a group of guys who walked up to the bar were settling up their tab until I seen them walking away with drinks. I gave them the benefit of the doubt then another person walked straight up and got served right away. Meanwhile the dude with the ponytail just looked straight through me as though I wasn’t even there. I hope they take their tip jar and enroll themselves into a finishing school where they’ll maybe learn something about grace, decorum and human decency.

AWFUL - RUDE DIRTY AND SLOW

Avoid at all costs. The employees are very rude and un welcoming. I was served a pint which I noticed was in a filthy glass with things floating at the bottom, I went to the bar , they took it away. Said they would check, 10 minutes later they are laughing at the glass between themselves. A further 10 minutes and another (different beer) turned up with no apology or explanation. Very unprofessional and welcoming. Typical this was my first experience of a bar in Riga.

Worst bar in Riga

Awful service. Sat at the bar for 10 mins, then got attention of bar man. He shook his head at me and said ‘no - other people need to be served first’. Then ignored me for another 10 mins until I walked out. Bar staff seemed to spend more time chatting to each other than serving. Fuming.

Great local beer

Great central pub ,good for people watching,and fantastic local beer.All at a reasonable price,with friendly barman. Many nationalities visit here and we met a great guy from Germany who happened to be the oldest bobsleigh champion in the World.Thank you Eddie. We will return.

Grumpy old man at the bar had poor service. Would not recommend going there while he is tending bar. Terrible attitude avoid this place

Closest pub to the Freedom Monument - skip

After having visited the Freedom Monument, we crossed the bridge and moved to a central area - this place was one of the first ones we spotted and have decided to stop there for food & drinks. Once we saw the menu, we realised we are going to have just the drinks as all the dishes were way too overpriced. We had our beers brought and gave back our menus to a waitress. During our visit, she was constantly walking past our table, I doubt she was making sure we are okay. It was annoying. Don't stop there for food, walk a bit further and there'll be more food places to choose from.

Horrible service

My wife asked bartender if she can order a beer and he replied in very unkind and agressive “Cant you see that im busy?” Even though there were no other customers which is just unprofessional and rude.I am a local and my wife is a foreigner.After that i asked him why such rude attitude and he denied everything and ofcourse being a coward threatened to call security on us and kept walking away so what followed was a very heated exchange between us.Its a real shame because we had been going there for 4 years and because of 1 racist bartender who doesnt like foreigners this place is dead to us.Would not recommend this establishment to anyine especially visitors from abroad.

Horrible experience. The bar was not full at all but still the bartender told us he is busy and can not serve us. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
