We visited the restaurant more than one time while our stay in Riga. One time the restaurant was a bit crowded and we waited for the waitress to come. The amazingly friendly bartender saw us waiting and came to our table with menus asking what...we wanted to order, I got even the chance to taste some local beers at the bar. One of the best customer service experiences during my trip. Thanks to that friendly bartender who made our night out better.More
Came here for a quick lunch. Service was fine to begin with but ordered chicken and it was completely pink in the middle from being so raw. Asked for another portion and it came an hour later (it was also a very quiet day). In...the second portion, I found multiple hairs! Wouldn’t recommend at all. Felt sorry for the waiter though - he was nice and tried his best despite a bad kitchen!More
Friends, we were a couple of 9 people having dinner and we ordered the local perch which I was told it was really good and it happens to be very poorly cooked, no flavour and served with strawberries, like seriously? The rest of the folks...asked for burgers and sort of kebab dishes, these were at the very best described as ok. The Beers though, just don't ask them if your used to a proper nice beer. Gin and tonics equally poorly served. We paid 200e. Cmon ppl just level up.More
Have been coming here now for two years for quick summer breaks. When in Riga, Old City, we always pop into Dom’s Darzs, the service is fantastic and all the staff work ‘their nuts off’ to provide an excellent level of service. Absolutely love it...outside, sunny day beer and wine in the sun. There are a good range of beers and local food. Latvian food is the perfect nosh for a Brit on a break but they do need more staff during busier periods but I will not let that effect my review as food and drink turned up in a prompt fashion, well presented and equally delicious, especially the chicken sasliks (Latvians amazing answer to the kebab) it was just a perfect portion with a good salad.
The waiters are pressured and are waitress was looking after roughly 20-30 people at any one time. It’s busy, summer holidays and Rammstein are in town, maybe some more staff to help would be good to counteract some of the bad reviews where people have not appreciated the amount of effort that the staff put in. They are fantastic and we will always be back...thank you to the staff of Dom’s Darzs for a lovely lunch and prompt service, in busy circumstances....
See you soonMore
Very lovely place in heart of Old Riga. Life music and friendly people.
Excellent food and good service. Bar staff and waiters are taking good care of customers. Ordered drinks in beginning and had them in few minutes. As it was sunny summer day, terrace...was busy, had to wait for food a bit. But it’s normal as we enjoyed atmosphere!More
We waited more than 40 minutes before having to beg to have a menu. We finally had one for two...
Then we had to wait again like 20/30 minutes before asking again for our order to be taken ... However after that the service was...quite fast.
As for the food, I wouldn't recommand this place. First because some ingredients are put in the recipes whereas they aren't written on the menu (bruscheta full of onions e.g.) and then because the food isn't tasty at all... I couldn't even eat my cheese plate.
To finish with, the bill was really expensive given the quality of the food.More
