Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For a quick satisfying meal - cheap and cheerful - this was a great find on our first afternoon in Riga. A tasty pumpkin soup and substantial and tasty mains set us up for long walks around Riga. It’s not a restaurant - so don’t...expect personal service. It is self serve, help yourself to drinks and food establishment but good value. It fills a hole well.More

Really cool place. Stunning building inside and out not far from the city centre and Old Town (we were only 4 euros in a taxi). The selection of food and drink is brilliant, varied and all very cheap. The mead beer was particularly good and...only about 2 euros a glass.More

There happen to be a number of Lido restaurants (we learned later) but this was the one that was recommended to us by some business friends. We jumped on a tram to get there, short ride from the city centre. It is more like a...very large cafeteria with some counters with all kind of food and a central check-out. Very busy during lunchtime and for a reason. We opted for the skewers (that also had the longest line of customers waiting, all local), some kind of rösti (second time we had rice) and salad. No small portions, nothing fancy but decent food and it is really cheap.More

We visited this certain Lido this afternoon. We were surprised by the size of it . There is a bit of everything there, Sears inside ,outside, under the trees ,by the water fountain , there is a playground, a mini zoo, decoration from Christmas ( not...lightened). Inside also very big place, upstairs also. Looks like a saloon. The food was quite good . The stuff explained anything we asked about the dishes. Good value for money, lots of families with children. Also free parking for the guests.More

We were recommended this place by a Latvian friend (and she is also cook). It is located 4 km from Old Town and we took the Tram 7 from the Opera or Market Halls to the stop "Atputas Centrs Lido" and walked the signed way...the last 500 meters. The place has also a leisure center for children and it was only partly open in April. The restaurant is open all days until 21 or 23. Enter the self-service food area, take a tray and take a view of all the food on display: soups, many potatoe varities, grilled meat, smoked meat, pan fried meat, cheese, beans, grey peas, fried potatos with onions, many types of salads and various vegetables laid in vinegar, a huge selection of desserts and finally delicious pastries. Four beers on tap, spirits (3 cl) and wine in bottles including "Riga Champagne". Pay at the cashier for what is on your tray and exit to a table in the huge seating area. Enjoy your food and beverages in your own relaxed pace. Children may have a great time and without disturbing anyone else. We recommend to go several smaller rounds to refill your tray with what you liked most - instead of making only one round. Prices are anyway very affordable. The food is rustic of type and ingredients are first quality and perfectly cooked. In German: Gut Bürgerliche Küche. Do not come come here if you prefer expensive dining with table clothes and servants serving Michelin-style food. We will definitely come again next time in Riga!More

We caught the bus here having read reviews and were hoping to eat and ice skate. Sadly after the walk from the bus stop we wandered around the outside and discovered there was no ice skating, then on entering the building to eat were turned...away as the man on the door would not accept my photo identification… in line with covid regulations a vaccine passport along with photo id has to be shown and everywhere else including the opera has accepted my photo id but this man would not. We took a long walk back to the city.More

There are lots of different little areas here + although we visited in the evening to eat you still get a feel for the complex . Parking is free although limited .There are different types of food available which you choose + the staff place...on your plate. The variety was overwhelming although reasonably priced. We chose to dine in but seating areas are available outside, including tables/chairs undercover. The restaurant was very clean ,There is a music /light water feature show outside which was lovely to watch , there is also a mini zoo area ,gift shops, children's racing car track ,+ funfair type stalls . I would recommend this as a place to visit with children .More

Enjoyable food, however the visit was spoiled by a very rude staff member on the door. She asked to measure our temperature - not a problem. However she failed to instruct us and got more irritated as we we're trying to figure the machine out....Maybe it was the issue of the language barrier- we spoke English, but still were very tempted to turn around and leave straight away. However our cashier was lovely and made it better.More

Maybe COVID had an impact on the work of this place, but it was much better some years ago. They had before much more variety of food and tastier. The quality of the beer so-so, better not to taste it...they are checking your temperature at...the entrance (due to the COVID) and many tables have a plastic shield, so they follow the prevention measures introduced by the GovernmentMore

Really amazing place! The food is good and tasty with a wide range of Latvian traditional cuisine meals. Also the setting is beautiful and authentic. There's a territory outside with all possible amusement park attractions and with a skating rink in winter.

Worth to visit. For a while it was the biggest log-house in the Europe (if I remember it right) and also the whole area - there is like a small entertainment park - is very nice. Food selection, quality and taste is very good (but...of course it is not a kind of a la carte restaurant for a romantic dinner). They take Covid-threat very seriously thus everybody's temperature is measured at the door (it takes ca 5 seconds), knifes-forks-spoons are packed specially, additional screens between tables etc. Unfortunately the basement-floor restaurant was closed, probably due to Covid (or may-be it is not open during Mon-Fri mid-day at all). This time we had a strange accident there: we went to order some more food and as we did not want leave a la a phone for a proof of coming back we just left a full glass of drink and some food to our table. After coming back in 5 minutes everything was cleaned... Actually the problem was solved immediately very nice way and we got everything back for free. But still as a result it was not a pleasant emotion from this lunch (I won't include this to my points). P.S. I even do not have a good recommendation for a stuff how to understand if the client has left or will continue the meal after some minutes. Bit better to find a solution for that. Placing fork-knife the right position on the plate (have finished/will continue) does not seem to work at all nowadays.More

To get there I took a tram from the old Town, it is around a 20 minute ride and I got off at the stop Atputas Centrs but still you have to walk around 7 minutes on the large and empty parking lot which was...kinda creepy at night. The food was very bland and tasteless in my opinion, but very cheap. Even the drinks were tasteless. It was rather empty on a Sunday at 8 PM, I would have expected much more people. On the -1 floor there was a band playing and people dancing. You can decide for yourself if it is worth it. But the cake from the café at the entrance was good.More
