A classy delicate restaurant, with traditional service, food is delicious, yet it might get too long waiting for your second dish or desert...

This restaurant is very nice and classy but also quite "stiff" and up tight. It feels luxurious and the food is very tasty, varied, and well presented. We felt like we needed to whisper and be very very formal at this dinner. Sometimes that might be exactly what you are looking for.

While the food is, of course, perfect, as well as the service. However, the interior ir a bit "without the soul", therefore I would rather recommend it for business lunches and dinners that special personal moment. But that, of course, depends on everyone's own taste. In any event, you will get a perfect meal!

When we arrived at 1900 hours on a saturday evenoing, we were the only guests in the restaurant. It was not possible to get the 5 dish menu although we had asked for it when reserving table in the morning. But the waiter offered to compensate by letting us share some of the enttres so we had plenty of tasting.... More

We were a bit skeptics at the beginning as it was totally empty (and it was Saturday night at 8pm), but then it turned out one of the best dinner experience I ever had at a standard price compared to Western European standards (probably in the high end of prices for Latvians): without drinks a full mean (starter, main and... Food and wine choice is very good and even if menu is not that big I had problems choosing as everything looked very good (and it was). Service was perfect and environment was just the best to have a relaxed dinner. Location is in Hotel Bergs not far from center and nice area. I recommend this place as one of... More

Description
While retaining the character and soul of this long standing institution of the Riga culinary scene, the new Executive Chef, Jānis Zvirbulis, proudly presents a reimagined Restaurant Bergs.... Bold culinary creations inspired by Europe's classic dining traditions will delight guests in a tastefully redone setting. This season, the menu is accented with seasonal mushrooms and Jānis especially recommends the wild Latvian venison Wellington. Also enjoy wild seasonal fish and sea food- scallops, snow crab, lobsters, sea urchins- farm grown meat, locally harvested vegetables and Etienne Boissy cheese... Dinner accompanied by live piano music on Fridays and Saturdays will set you in a harmonious state of mind.
