We had a lovely time and enjoyed great food for a small price. We enjoyed a local meatball dish with a nice beer and as dessert a black balsam! In the weekend there is live local music, the atmosphere is nice.
You know the saying "you get what you pay for"?
This is a perfect example of it. The food costs almost nothing but it's barely edible.
Everything tastes off and is overly fatty. This is not a place you go to for food.
It's only...good for beers and live music but if you feel claustrophobic definitely avoid it as it is in a smelly basement with no windows or anything.
Also there is no service. You have to pretty much order your stuff at the bar and then they bring it to your table... The food took over an hour to arrive and it was not even that busy.More
We had little time in Riga and went here because of good reviews (we wanted to have some Latvian food). The place is very busy. Menu is a bit limited but the food we ordered (we didn't go for any spectacular 1 kilo meat fishes)...was fresh and tasty. Beer was good. All in all, a decent place to quench one's hunger and thirst, but I didn't find it super-atmospheric.More
