It is already good luck to find place where big group of travellers can have lunch together. Food was OK and they started to bring in 20 minutes until we noticed that our last 5 friends did not get anything and other tables who arrived...after us got their orders... Someone in the kitchen decided that 75% of order performance is already a good rate...More

Really nice pub with tasty food and great service. It has the Guiness World record of pub with the highest ceiling. Had the pork ribs and the house ale and what a combo... Totally recommend it.

We were here during our short stay in Tartu. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is friendly. The menu includes some typical Estonian dishes. The selection of tasty beers is also ok.

The food was ok, but the athmosphrere was unique and very interesting because the restaurant is inside of the old gunpowder cellar. Service was a bit slow but polite and happy.

Waited for two hours for food and nothing happened.... Worst experience and very unsatisfied. The restaurant wasnt even full so thats not an excuse.

Service is very slow. We waited over an hour appetizers and there were not many customers. We got tired of waiting and went away before main course. Appetizers is good taste and big size.

Favorite pub in Tartu. I like the interior and the food. The trout cream soup was very tasty. I also recommend eating condensed milk donuts.

This place looks amazing because it was a huge underground gunpowder storage vault built in the late 18th century and beautifully preserved. This is not fine dining - it's very much wonderful, heavy tavern food with a German/Eastern European menu. My serve of pork knuckle...was huge - and excellent. It looks set up to handle very large numbers of people and it easily cope with several large tour buses worth of diners. As it happened I was feeling a bit homesick and was able to find a nice bottle of Australian red wine - for quite a reasonable price. I have already suggested that it's worth visiting Tartu just to go here.More

Very, I mean VERY slowly service, waitress (So Good!) trying to run like crazy (in a Good way). Appetizers coming with food after one and half hours tohether with main food.

Staying in Tartu for a few days, after dinner in Pierre’s, we strolled through the park to see the old gunpowder factory. We put our head in the door to view the interior and were drawn in by the atmosphere and the music. What a...great evening. When I bought beer at the bar, I asked the name of the band playing. Seems like it was Alar Salurand and Sonimuusikud. We loved their upbeat foot tapping repertoire. Good vibe, good team at the bar and good beer.More

Unique atmosphere and architecture take you back to the end of the 18th century, when the gunpowder cellar was built. Defined as the highest pub ceiling in the world; the brick arches are over 10 m high! Difficult to get bored here since some evenings...feature rodeos, some beer pong, some others live singing or performances... The service is very good, kind and polite waitresses who also speak English. The prices are good and the foods and drinks are tasty. Definitely a must visit if you're in Tartu!More
