Went with group. Reservation made ahead but as mentioned in many other reviews, reservation was Lost( seems common occurrence there) . Fortunately got in anyway. Disappointed that No Music on Mondays and server did not attempt any of “medieval patter” ( none! Not even bad...attempt) could have been at US chain Red Lobster or like. My meat platter was not bad although very salty and other raved about mushroom soup.More

This was the perfect spot for medieval dining. The menu was medieval in concept and the servers were attired appropriately for the period. They also did a magnificent job of keeping their language in the period in which it was conceived which added a great...deal of fun to our dining. They have both inside and outside seating. The service was super friendly, the food was yummy and the beers and ciders hit the spot. Good eats! Good fun!More

We had just arrived in Tallinn by ferry and wanted some lunch before we were able to check into our hotel. We walked into the old town and for one didn’t checkTA but used the old method of seeing which place was busy and having...a quick look at what people were eating. We wanted a light lunch like a salad and we could see they had them on the menu. We sat outside and ploughed our way through the lengthy menu written in ancient script and found 2 salads so ordered one of each. Tried to order a Diet Coke to go with them but they don’t serve soft drinks so had water. The salads were fine, enough to keep us going through the afternoon but were nothing special. Service was OK, servers spoke good English and food appeared promptlyMore

Great atmosphere, good service bilut that's it. Since last time I visited, about 3 years ago, food got much worse. It's just loaded with spice. Ordered lam, all we could taste are spices. Very much disappointed, kitchen got much worse. However, good place for a...drink and atmosphere just don't eat there.More

A few days in Tallinn and thought this might be a fun experience. It was. I loved my dark honey beer and my son said the steak was best he had tasted. The staff are very friendly and atmosphere great. I had a huge liquor...coffee at end of meal which was lovely. Quite pricey but unique.More

More of a novelty restaurant. Set up in olden times. Inside it is near darkness, only candles lit provide minimal brightness. Outside you can heave a sigh of relief. Wait staff in uniform , speaking the tone and language of earlier century era. Menu choices...can be intimidating, meat provide choices of a boar, lamb , duck , and a bear ? Anyway I had mine sirloin, my spouse got soup and my daughter had salmon. All were delicious although in small servings. They don’t serve sodas , so I had ginger beer in half liter servings. It’s not always you get the experience, but I suggest you try this one. By the way , our server lady is really cool . And the other at stall selling caramel nuts was lovely.More

First night in Tallinn, we went there for dinner. Had reserved ahead - but that meant nothing. They have no system of looking up reservations. Anyway, lots of space. We ordered the set menu which brought lots of unlimited food. The food was absolutely pedestrian....They claim authentic recipe from medieval times, it was not really. Sugar, saffron, Indian spices, poppadam galore. It’s a complete tourist trap. Never again.More

The atmosphere took us back to the medieval times. Even the food selection was traditional, the serving kits, dresses of waitresses reminded us of that time. Very nice spot to sit and have dinner on the streets of the Old Town. Good for people loving...meat very much.More

After una reservation one month ago, when we arrived to the restaurant 10 minutes before of our reservation waiters were looking for a place for us. Finally they gve us an small table between the door and the stairs with everybody wlking around and hit...our chais and table. Obviously we got up and left the restaurant. Don,t miss your time reserving. They dont respect your reservation, the only important thing is to fill up the local with tourists.More

Medieval food on offer may not be at the top of everyone's list but give it a go. Try a beer such as honey beer or ginger beer, served in a pot instead of a glass. The staff are all wonderful and they ensure that...this is a unique experience.More

Very touristy, but I love it! It's decorated with many murals and is like stepping back in time. The food was very good, although beware the sherry sauce - it was strong! As usual the rose pudding was perfect!

The pork steak my friend ordered was much under cooked. She mentioned it to the waiter and got a portion of Icecream ( the taste was like soap). The food was over- priced and 100% for tourist who are not even planning to come back....For an extra piece of bread they charge 3,50€ and a glass of sparkling water was several euros. When you get the bill there is a text in big letters: tip is not included. In Estonia the locals do not usually leave tips and if this is the way the waiters get their salary, one can only judge the system there. There are plenty of good/ excellent restaurants in Tallinn for reasonable prices but this one is not any of them. I had visited this place over 10 years ago and now we went there because my friend was in Estonia for the first time and wanted something special. That she really got: awful food and high prices.More
