I wanted to love this place, and it looked so inviting especially with the torrential rain but it was disappointing. We were brought past the really warm and lovely central area to a room on the top floor which had a big electric light on...in the middle (they turned it off after a while) and no atmosphere compared to other areas (it was a bit cold too). Next disappointment was the food; very expensive and worst of all, lukewarm. Our server was lovely but seemed very stressed with some large groups who came in after. I would go back but hope this experience was not their usual service.More

I loved the general experience. The food was delicious. Their local beers are wonderfully brewed, and the waiters are the kindest

This place is worth the hype around it. The food was really really good. I had ordered a main course with chicken. The chicken was really delicious and cooked with great precision. I tried the cinnamon beer and would recommend it. I had another liquor...from the house. The service was outstanding as the waiter accomodated me really well by explaining each thing I was curious about by taking a seat. The ambience is good as well. Go for it.More

We visited Olde Hanse based on the recommendations of multiple people and were very happy that we did. We had a great time there and enjoyed some delicious food. The waiters were kind and helpful and made us feel welcome. It is highly recomended to...pop in for a meal when you're in Tallinn.More

After reading various reviews here, I was a bit 'afraid' about the tourist-trapness of this restaurant. However, I see no reason to give Olde Hansa a bad review. The food was medieval-tasty (combinations you normally wouldn't make!), the beer was great and the service was...splendid. The overall atmosphere is unrivalled in Europe. Never dined in a more beautiful restaurant in my life. You've got to love medieval atmosphere, history, and decoration. If not, the average fastfood company might be more suitable for you.More

Olde Hansa is by far the best theme restaurant I've ever been to. Theme restaurants can be tacky if not done properly, but at Olde Hansa, every little detail adds to the atmosphere. The service was friendly and all the waiters stayed in character throughout...the evening. We visited Olde Hansa 3 times during our stay in Tallinn - which should tell you something about how much we enjoyed it. The drinks were excellent - if you like non-standard beer, you should definitely give the different beers (honey, cinnamon and herbs) a try. In regards to the food I cannot disagree more with some of the other reviews here. Sure, Olde Hansa isn't cheap. But if the food was bad - as some reviews suggest - we would not have returned. All the dishes we had were very good and we were definitely not served small portions. Maybe it takes some time to adjust to the medieval flavours, but I truly enjoyed the food here. I had the 'Mild game pot" and the grilled salmon and sampled the wild boar plate. It all tasted great. Olde Hansa is one of the reasons I can't wait to visit Tallinn again!More

We went there for dinner in the evening. The theme and atmosphere was very good and true too the time era. The food was ok, but they could have done more with the flavours. The portion size was very small and kind of tasteless, but...cool theme. If you want to get cultural in Tallinn, I reccomend it, but not if you are looking to have a nice dinner.More

Very interesting experience. A lot of love has been put into the setting to create the illusion of eating in a fantasy world tavern. Likewise, the staff are very kind and attentive. Two musicians played medieval music with great talent. I congratulate them greatly! Nevertheless...I have to say that I was quite disappointed with the food. We had the game meat sausage trio and found the taste of the whole plate to be way too sour for us. For the price (20 euros), it hurts a bit ... But after all it may just not be to our liking and that you are going to be a fan! I'm not sure if I would recommend it to everyone but if you want to fulfill your dream of being a young adventurer going to the village tavern to pick up their first Monster Hunter quest, you've come to the right place!More
