Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had great food here. Sat inside and enjoyed the local food. The servers were dressed in clothing from the merchant era and were great at explaining food choices. Would definitely go again.

A nice restaurant with kind personnel, polite, smilling and willing to help. There are some local dishes, and it's worth try it... quality is correct but not gourmet type. Decoration is nice and middle-age style such as personnel's clothes. There was a short play with...sword fight. Good place to go.More

Peppersack in Tallinn’s Old Town might serve great food amidst a captivating medieval ambiance, but beware if you’re visiting from the USA or speak English. Our experience was severely marred by blatant discrimination. After a pleasant meal, we were shocked to receive a bill that...included an outrageous 22% service fee, explicitly added because we spoke English. The server bluntly stated that this "American fee" could be reclaimed at customs, an absurd and insulting claim. This isn't just poor service; it's outright discrimination and potentially violates legal standards regarding equal treatment of customers. It's shameful and unacceptable that tourists are being targeted this way based on their nationality or the language they speak. I strongly advise fellow Americans and English-speaking visitors to think twice before dining at Peppersack. Discriminatory practices like these should not be supported or tolerated. Stay away and let this establishment know that exploiting tourists is disgraceful and unacceptable.More

Nice dinner with friends. Food was tasty, but quite basic. Waiters were friendly. There was also a sword fight show in the evening.

The restaurant was very nice and the staff are very friendly. The food was great but the portions way too small. The average person may be hungry without starters.

Beef soup had little bits of citrus for brightness in the hearty broth. Highly recommend with one of their fresh butter rolls.

Not up to a standard that I think its worth a visit. Spend your money elsewhere. A touristy place with a good number of courses to choose from.

Absolute gem of a restaurant. We enjoyed it so much that we ate here 3 times during our visit, and every dish we sampled was excellent. The menu offers a great choice ( we are not vegetarians but there was a good choice if you...are). I particularly enjoyed the pork ribs and the steak but each dish was faultless. In addition the staff are excellent & the service was prompt & attentive.More

Wow...this was recommended but it needs to improve. Not one to write poor reviews but this was poor. Coffee was pricey and weak...extra shot to make it taste like coffee cost E3 extra...E8 for a half decent coffee...give me a break !!! Hot chocolate was...cold. Table was littered with previous customers debris.More

Ate here twice during our visit. Located right off the Xmas markets and a old theme restaurant which was cosy and interesting. Staff were really friendly and polite. Waited the first day as hadnt booked and waiter was very informative kept updating how long he...expected us to be when he didn’t necessarily need to. Food was decent and a fair price I guess in what we have paid to other cities and restaurants in popular areas. Second visit we had here a little show happened during the meal which was different but overall enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Worth a stop for a proper dinner for sureMore
