Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I can’t understand why this isn’t ranked much higher. The food, drinks and ambience are all perfect. Day 4 in Tallinn and this is one of our best meals so far. A genuine hidden gem in Tallinn.

We entered to empty restaurant on slushy saturday but felt right away very welcomed and well served. Wild boar tasted great and steak was as requested. Great food and nice live musics (requests also work), will absolutely recommend.

Very charming little restaurant. We started with the seafood starter for two, which was really good. A nice selection of different fish in different styles, Trout roe and smoked herring were particular favourites of mine while my partner also loved the tuna. All of it...was good however. For mains, I had the boar stew which was very good. But the star of the show was the duck my partner had. Perfectly cooked, medium rare with a zingy raspberry sauce and sweet carrot purée. It was exceptional. I had to stop her from licking the plate. All washed down with a lovely full bodied Italian appassimento. No room for dessert unfortunately. It’s a pleasant little place, with great service from our waiter Igor, who was happy, attentive and helpful. Igor recommended a lovely festive beer as we looked at the menu, brought us complimentary shots of vodka schnapps before our starter, and let our wine breath before serving so it was ready in time for our main. All round a lovely evening meal. Highly recommended!More

Couldn’t get in to a number of restaurants in the city on this busy Friday night without a booking so wondered if the fact that we could get into this one was a bad sign. Absolutely not the case! The restaurant was very attractive and...the service was lovely. The food was very tasty - we had a mixed sharing fish starter assortment and then a range of main courses amongst the four of of, all of which were very good. I really enjoyed my salmon in lemon sauce. We also had a cheese and vegetable platter to share as a side. We were too full for dessert but the beer was good and the complimentary vodka shots were very bracing! A thoroughly lovely restaurant.More

We had the business dinner in this small Estonian restaurant in Tallinn. The starters were selected small portions of Baltic Sea fish dishes. The main course was boar pot with cooked potatoes. Both cuisines were tasty and the wines very good as well. Service was...extremely good. Highly recommend.More

Such a friendly place. The waiting staff were, fun, chatty and helpful and made the whole experience enjoyable, so much more than just a meal. The food is excellent. The wild boar was probably the best meal of my whole trip. Reasonable prices too. I...rarely go back to the same restaurant when travelling, but I did to this one as I couldn't see how I was going to find a better alternative. Only a short walk from the main square. Tables outside if the weather permits.More

My family and I had dined here before. about 2 years back. When we returned, Igor, the gentleman we met then from the restaurant, actually remembered us! The service was tip top. Igor's touch made the experience one that we will definitely want to repeat...again. The man remembered what we ate 2 years ago for goodness' sake! There was also a lady who was very attentive and a mountain of a man who walked us to the town square and showed us the direction to our hotel. The meat platter for 2 and the duck, my favourites. Especially the meat platter. If given a choice, have the veal tongue grilled, it was amazing. The cold lard - The biggest culinary surprise of my life. I thought I would throw up, but it ended up being one of my favourites in the meat platter. Try it!!! My only regret is that I had to rush off and did not get to finish my lunch. We don't know if we will ever have the opportunity to return to Tallinn, but if and when we do, you can be sure, we will have a hearty meal once more, at Wana Wiipuri!More

Having been turned away from full restaurants close to Freedom Square, I was pleased to find Wana Wiipuri open and happy to welcome a solo diner. Located in a basement along Pikk, this restaurant combines Estonian, Russian and Finnish cuisine. I started with a selection...of pickled herring then enjoyed a flavoursome wild boar stew. Finished with a rich chocolate cake, good but unremarkable. Language is not a problem. A very efficient waitress spoke English (as well as Estonian, Russian and Finnish!) Three courses and a beer cost 37e40 plus tipMore

I had lunch here and was pleased to get a table outside. Service was really friendly and I didn't have to wait terribly long. I had chicken with some sort of green sauce and potato gratin that was made with curry, plus roasted vegetables and...plenty of black bread with herb butter. It was fabulous - utterly divine! And I'd like very much to eat that again!More
