Von Krahl felt pretty cozy, welcoming and also had an outside terrace where my friend and I ate.
Vegan pitaburger was fairly priced (considering the place is in the middle of the Old Town) and I liked it.
Lovely atmosphere, excellent food and unbelievably incredible service! We accidentally broke a glass and they were very gracious about it❤️ Definitely a must-see if you visit Tallinn, truly a highlight of our trip! ✨ Thank you so much!
We were once again satisfied in Von Krahli Aed. The food is very tasty. They have a small menu (only 4 mains) so it’s perhaps wise to check the website in advance that they have a dish suitable for you. The portions aren’t huge, so...get one of their fabulous entrees also if you’re hungry. Booking recommendable since this very atmospheric place is very popular and for a good reason. The service is very attentive and friendly. We will definitely come again. And again.More
We enjoyed an evening of drinks and snacking here. The restaurant is very atmospheric, with a cozy closed backyard under some twinkly lights. We however chose a table indoors. The room was very pretty in a rustic sort of way, it could be perfect for...a small wedding or other party too.
The drink list had some interesting alternatives, such as an artisanal gooseberry wine which I liked a lot. The menu was very unique. To be honest, many of the dishes did not sound very appetizing; the menu lacked typical crowd-pleaser dishes and the selection of dishes seemed somewhat old-fashioned to us (maybe they are trendy again?). Many came with a side of fermented vegetables, and parsley and celery seemed to be staples of several dishes. Hungry as we were, we ordered the "Estonian landscape" snack plate for 11€, with local cheeses, fermented veggies and savoury jams. We quite liked it, it was such a different and interesting snack plate, but we never would have tried it anywhere else. The flavours were rather mild, including the cheeses, as seems to be typical for Estonian dishes. The portion was quite small, even though it was meant for two persons.
Although we liked the snack plate, it would be nice if the menu had at least 1-2 crowd-pleasers. Delicious as the dishes might have been, we did not feel like trying them, as the ingredients did not sound particularly appetizing to us and we didn't quite know what to expect, feeling like it could have been a hit or miss. Still it would have been nice to have proper dinner there, because the restaurant was the prettiest we saw in Tallinn. I wonder if other potential customers might appreciate it as well, because upon our arrival the restaurant was quite vacant even though it was Friday, more so than other nearby-restaurants. The atmosphere was very inviting though, I hope people will find their way here! Certainly it's worth a try if you are after locally sourced dishes!More
