About

Vegan Restaurant V is the first vegan restaurant in Tallinn and Estonia! We opened our doors in April 2014. We’re a small and cozy vegan restaurant in the Old Town of Tallinn. Our restaurant is located on Rataskaevu street which is known for its several popular restaurants. We offer an international a la carte menu with dishes from all over the world both for lunch and dinner. And it is 100% vegan meaning everything is free from dairy, egg and meat. We also serve alcohol that you can enjoy with your food, but if you’d choose to go for non-alcoholic drink, we have a variety of virgin specials. Reservations are highly recommended. And not just a day earlier, the earlier the better. It's never too early to book a table.

Excellent food, atmosphere and staff - booking essential

We booked a table here a few weeks before arriving in Tallinn - thank goodness we did as we saw quite a few people being turned away. It is refreshing being in a restaurant where the staff care about what they are serving. Our waitress was very willing to explain what was in each dish and how it had been cooked. Very helpfully she was able to change things around a little to meet our dietary needs. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious - lovely flavors and textures. The restaurant is small (only 10 tables I think) and this provides a nice, calm and intimate atmosphere - just right for enjoying their excellent food.

One of the very best!

My wife and I were drawn in by the interesting menu, and were lucky to get the last available table on a Tuesday night. The atmospheric lighting complemented the old, rustic interior so well, it was a real experience. This place is very popular and with good reason. Both of us being omnivores we were a tiny bit unsure if this was the place for us - but not to worry, all the food was really superb. Well thought out dishes and our server was so helpful, taking time to chat a little and explain the dishes to us. We particularly enjoyed the peanut butter curry and the pear ice cream dessert. Really superb. We enjoyed our first ever vegan restaurant experience so much we wanted to go back the next evening but it was already fully booked, it's so popular. Really good value too for this quality of food, visit and you will not be disappointed! A special mention and thank you to staff member Elizabeth, so friendly and helpful.

Delicious vegan food in a good atmosphere / todella herkullista vegaaniruokaa kivassa ympäristössä

We popped in at around 4 pm on a Saturday and were Lucky enough to get a table for two for a few hours. We ended up ordering 3 drinks each, a starter, main course, dessert and tea, and paid around 80 euros includibg tip. The food was very delicious, the restaurant is small and cozy, and I didn’t find the waiting time for the food to be too long. I will come again, I will recommend it to others! But remember to book in advance! Käytiin katsomassa josko saataisiin pöytä kahdelle lauantaina n. klo 4 aikaan iltapäivästä. Saatiin kuin saatiinkin pöytä pariksi tunniksi. Molemmat tilattiin kolme juomaa, alkupala, pääruoka, jälkkäri ja tee, ja maksettiin tippi mukaan lukien n. 80 euroa. Ruoka oli todella hyvää, ravintola mukavan kotoisa ja pieni, eikä ruokaa tarvinnut mielestäni odotella liian kauaa. Tulen uudestaan ja suosittelen muillekin! Mutta muistakaa tehdä pöytävaraus!

BEST vegan restaurant EVER!

Apart from the super excellent service and outstanding vegan dishes you can eat here, this is a restaurant with style. Thank you for defying the stereotype of “hippy” vegan restaurant. I must say I was disappointed when I was turned away on a week night, because they were full. But I am happy that I went again on Sunday for lunch. The service was so kind to find a spot for me for the same evening, so I could return again for dinner before leaving Tallinn. I tried the beetroot ravioli, the tempeh burger and the chocolate balls at lunch. For dinner I chose the mushroom pâté, chef’s special main course (like a quinoa and potato casserole) and finally the chocolate cake with cappuccino frosting. The service - both at lunch and dinner - was another highlight, super welcoming, attentive and explained every dish to the finest detail. Don’t miss this place!! It’s heaven!

Take it from a guy that's not even Vegan but his girlfriend made him go: This restaurant is killing it! We called in last minute and were able to get a table (don't expect to be as lucky, reserve a table ahead of time). Dinner in a whole, service included, ended up being one of the best I've ever had. + Starter cheese platter absolutely recommended! ++ Chug down a bottle of sulfite free red wine and wake up the next day without a headache, what's up? +++ Reasonable prices, would even say undervalued; I've had worse dinner with double the money.

It was lashing rain and this was near so we said we would chance them having a table. It was a great surprise. We had some really tasty food, the local sparkling rhubarb wine and absolutely fantastic service from the two waitresses who made it a special evening. Highly recommended.

Massive thank you for saving us a table . We hadn’t booked . Phoned ahead and they had a table that they don’t reserve but was happy to hold for a short time till we got there . My son and I are meat eaters but we like vegetarian food . We were not disappointed . The food was fabulous - we had the crispy cauliflower and the lentil lasagne - couldn’t make our minds up so shared both to which the waiters brought us extra side plates together with a wonderful plate of their home made bread. A very reasonable priced menu , ours were I think €11.80 each and a cider and beer at €5. Excellent polite , knowledgeable service . A wonderful small and cosy restaurant . If we return to Tallinn we will be back .

A little gem of a restaurant in the Old Town.

We visited this restaurant while on a short first trip to Tallinn. Both myself as a vegetarian and my partner who is an omnivore were very impressed with the food. We visited late in the evening and it was still very full. A small restaurant with a cosy atmosphere and understated yet stylish interior with the original features of old building showing. We both had main courses and a drink each, finishing with dessert. The service was good and came in good time; we felt welcomed and looked after. The menu was interesting with a good selection of dishes, the food itself tasted great and was presented well. We would definitely be back if visiting Tallinn again, vegan or non-vegan.

The world need more places like this

This place serves a fully vegan menu. We started with a cheese platter for two and were absolutely amazed. The cheeses were the best we have ever tasted, so delicious! If the main course was as good, I would have definitely given five stars. The main course was only ok though. The menu was a little disorganized, with fine dining dishes like a fancy mushoom risotto, and then also tacos and a burger. We also thouhgt that it shouldn’t necessarely say ”vegan” in the name of the restaurant, it might turn someone prejudiced away. But all in all this place is great and we need more restaurants like this!

Unbelievably tasty food

As a meat and dairy food eater I never thought of eating in a vegan restaurant, however, we were recommended to eat here and I have to be totally honest and say it was one of the tastiest meals I have ever eaten & I have eaten in several Michelin starred places in various countries and this is up there with the best of them. My wife and I had the sharing platter to start , absolutely fantastic & both went for the crispy battered cauliflower with noodles and curry sauce dish , this was outrageously tasty , who knew cauliflower could taste so good. We had the rhubarb wine which was excellent and really complemented the food. Staff were excellent as well , very knowledgeable on all the dishes on offer , all in all this is a definite place to visit if you ever get the chance and that’s for meat eaters as well If you do think of going then book well in advance or you will miss out as it gets very busy

The best vegan food I had in ages

I am vegetarian and while travelling through Belarus and Ukraine I found my diet quite restricted. I was so happy to find this place. I had a burger and my husband potato bake - sounds boring but the combination of spices, sauces made it so tasty. Apart from that, the staff and atmosphere was very friendly. I wish we stayed in Tallinn longer to visit again.

Fantastic food and lovely staff, couldn't recommend more. Their food is a level-above most usual vegan fare, but sold at a reasonable price. A must-go for everyone, vegan or otherwise, but definitely book - especially for an evening service it's unlikely you'd get a table just walking in, which attests to their popularity with locals and tourists alike

The best vegan food I've ever had.

I cannot stress how good this restaurant is, I came here with my girlfriend on holiday and she is a vegetarian, I an avid meat eater. The restaurant is very cosy yet very chic, the staff were very warm and attentive, the price was very good for the overall experience but THE FOOD... the food was so delicious, I even though hey, this vegan thing is not bad at all! The food was so beautifully presented, and the attention to detail is obvious not just from the composition of the elements on the plate, but how well the flavours match and balance each other. The wine too was very good. The vegan cheesecake I will say was not out of this world, but was still very delicious and still contributed to this enthusiastic review. If you find yourself in Tallinn, this restaurant is a MUST. In busy periods I'd say make a reservation, as the restaurant is not very big.

It's love!

Everytime I go to Vegan V, I fall deeper in love with this place and its delicious vegan food. Every dish is so well pepared and the ingredients are of very good quality, with creative combinations and presentations. Oh, and I had the best vegan chocolate cake ever. And if you want to add the cherry on top, order their bread - amazing. Definitely recommended, can't wait to go back.

The pearl of Tallinn

This restaurant is a success. The place just made me feel so thankful. Our waitress, she's got talent. She knew how to make people feel comfortable. Their Menu is art. I appreciate that they are using a lot of local ingredients. And they also have a great knowledge how to mix Scandinavian tastes with other food cultures.
