Our visit in Tallin we wanted to go out a little bit different pubs. Our visit there were also a band playing and it was nice suprise (hillibillie band). It didn't cost anything. Atmosphere was relaxed.
Great interior! Made in the same style of Scotland Yard. Almost museum exhibits on the walls. This is beyond words, it must be seen with your own eyes. Made with love. Dinner is also cooked with love, very tender meat with a side dish, in...a hot pan, did not cool down and allowed to enjoy dinner in a leisurely atmosphere. A must-see place for tourists !!!More
I went here for a drink with a friend on her recommendation from being there before.
It’s quite cool! There is a central dance floor with tables around it. One wall is full of books. There are old police type souvenirs around - handcuffs etc...Best bit is the mugshot spot! You can take a picture in front of one of those things that mark out your height & hold a sign with Scotland Yard on it
And finally - the toilets. Memorable! The doors to the cubicles look like prison doors. Then the toilet is contained within what looks like an electric chair
Would recommend a look if you like this kind of stuffMore
The food was tasty very well though of, and there was live music which is always a bonus --
But for a place that invests a lot in the atmosphere - the general atmosphere was very unpleasant.
There was a fish tank above the stage,...lit with bright lights so you couldn't not look at it, and it contained many huge fish swimming in a small confined space.
That just made me sad for the fish most of the time.
The staff was unwelcoming and acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me in. They answered questions in mono-syllabic sentences, looked away while talking to me... Generally the place felt off.
I couldn't wait to finish my food and get away.More
Just outside the Old Town, Scotland Yard is a large pub restaurant done in an English style with lots of dark wood, exposed brick walls and those that aren’t exposed brick or stone are covered in books to look like the walls of a library...and then lots of seating areas on two levels with the traditional dark burgundy padded bench seating. And yes you do find fish tanks occasionally in English pubs but not as large as the massive one that forms a wall to the pleasant upstairs seating area and a backdrop to the stage on the lower ground floor.
And it was this feature ( the stage , not the fish tank) that made us take the short walk from the middle of the Old Town as on the weekend (cannot comment for other days of the week) they have live bands playing from 9.00pm onwards.
Cannot comment on the food as we did not eat here but this is a smart pub with the usual standard Tallinn drink options and the benefit of live bands and a busy dance floor on weekend evenings.More
