Ok, I'm usually quite picky about restaurants and food what they serve. This was one of the rare restaurants that I had no complaints at all; the service was excellent, the food was superb, they had good Italian wines. One of the highlights was the...Monkfish, try it, you won't be disapointed. They also noted my son's birthday. This is clearly one of the gems in Tallinn, if you like good food, good service and nice ambience, this is the place. A bit pricey, but worth every cent. We will be coming back.More

There is a lot of Slavonic influence in this purportedly Italian restaurant. There are true Italian classics on the menu, including Vitello tonnato and Saltimbocca romana. But the ambience lacks Italian warmth and the dishes are simply too big - the Slavonic size. - The...staff was attentive, but unfortunately forgot to tell us that the service was going to end, and the desert menu... was... leftovers from the cafe...More

Gianni is an upscale Italian restaurant in Tallinn, Estonia with luxurious interior and good food. Although it is bit outside from the center, it is still worth to look it up and experiene some nice dishes there. As we went there on Monday evening and...during off-season, it was quite quiet and we didn`t had to worry about table reservation. We were greeted by waitress and she kindly asked to put our coats in the closet and that they have free table for us. We actually "lost" the waitress, while we were putting our clothes to the closet, but then everything sorted out quickly. As there was a small birthday party, then ceiling was covered with balloons, which was actually quite nice "extra" to the interior. But don`t get me wrong - everything there is tasteful and luxuriously decorated (exquisite chandeliers, double linen on the table etc). Overall interior is really nice, just only a margin below of being fantastic. Service was overall good, but there were some minor issues (as this is fine dine restaurant, I have to criticize every detail). One of them was that we did not received as much of attention than we should. Only once we were asked if we want to have salt or pepper on top of our dish (and that was even before we tasted anything) and also with second course, we had to wait just a tad too long and after it was served, no-one really seemed to care about us until everything was finished... But the two dishes I had were good and very good. Firstly I had Salmon Carpaccio with red caviar. It was really simple dish with good flavours and that caviar was a nice touch but there was something missing - too few elements on a plate. If you make something simple you HAVE to be sure that everything is spot on. But it was not and I was carving for "something" more. Hence 8/10. For the main I had Beef fillet (medium) with Porcini mushrooms. By gods that beef fillet was so well made it just melted in mouth and tasted (almost) excellent. It was just lacking some more seasoning (pepper) and sadly this was the part were waitress should have come and asked if I would like to have something and if everything is ok...but I will not kill a point for this. Also - sides on a plate were spot on - potatoes were very good and porcini sauce - just brilliant with loads of mushroom and enough sauce to get until the end. Asparagus wrapped in bacon was extra nice touch and overall, yes, I will give it a 10/10. Sublime. Sadly these two courses were so filling that I had no room whatsoever for dessert. And now for final score. Atmosphere - 9/10. Service - 7/10 and food 9/10, giving it overall score of 25/30 and just above the bar for 5 stars here. P.S. I was tipped that they also serve one of best pastas in Tallinn, to be precise - Tagliolinis stirred in parmesan wheel with black truffle should be one to go for... P.P.S. They have also very good wine menu!More

We had a nice dinner with plates of starters to share. Then we had "The Pasta" rolled in melting parmesan an with black truffles and seabass baked in salt cover. Again sortiments of desserts to share. The food was excellent, perhaps the best I have...had in Tallinn, the wines very good and the staff nothing but quality from the beginning to the end. I am happy to have visited this restaurant and able to cordially recommend it.More

I had hoped to go there for a long time. So we finally managed to. The most questionable is the service there. And getting service in Estonian seemed to be difficult. I regret to say but the service was slow and when we finally got...our meals, these were cold and tastless. It could be that we had really unlucky day. The place itself is beautiful!! Definitely a place for a romantic event. Photos are not from dinner but daytime when I went to check out the place and if it's ok to take our guests there.More

Went to Gianni to celebrate my mother's birthday and everything exceeded our expectations! Firstly - we were so lucky to be part of such an amazing service, and we would like to thank our waiter (a Russian man - didn't check his name) for making...this evening extra incredible for us! We went there and knew basically nothing about the food and wines, and each and every of his suggestion was 10/10 for us. He also explained details about our dishes and gave us lots of interesting facts about truffles (we ordered two truffle dishes) and wine! We felt really spoiled by him the whole evening! We had to rush out to get to our taxi and because of that we didn't have a chance to thank him properly and felt very bad about that! We hope that review reaches him. (it was Friday 17.01) Food and wine was also incredible - the whole evening couldn't be any better. Even coffee tasted strangely good in this restaurant. We would like to recommend truffle risotto - it feels like you go to heaven and back! Thank you for the great evening and we will be back soon :)More

High expectations because of good reviews. Food honestly was average. The porcini tagliatelle were bland and the king crab pasta’s tomato sauce was watery with no taste.
