About
LEE is a successor of Leib Restaurant, managed by the same team! LEE: a word describing the ancient Estonian communal fireplace around which life would vividly simmer and crackle; a place to prepare and share delicious meals together. Today’s LEE is inspired by this same primeval joy for familial life, connecting around tables, sharing food and stories. We are guided by our love of local produce, combined with international skill and playful curiosity. The centrepiece of our menu is always local, sourced from artisan producers and our friends from farms and forests, which we enrich with our own experience from abroad. As we Estonians are ever evolving, our menu also changes accordingly, characterised

Beautiful location, inside out. We were greeted friendly from the beginning and welcomed to our table. Friendly waiter explained us the restaurants filosophy and for us it was easy to go for the Lee Experience. Wonderful starters followed by main dish prepared from ingredients grown...by nearby farmers. All dishes unique, by appearance and taste, all together a great experience! And yes, book a table, the place was packed 😅More

I’m tempted to give this a little bit higher. But I have to rate it like it is. The waiter I had almost didn’t fit in with the experience, he was better place at a amazing restaurant. And this place, I mean, the place looks...amazing. The entrance to the restaurant is magestic and the decor is inviting and warm. The wine is good, excellent even. I saw really special bottles on the menu and special bottles flying over the table with other guests. But the wine doesn’t fit the food at all. And that makes me give it 3/5. The food is good, but I see many reviews with the same food. That tells me that the chef doesn’t change the menu. And a chef who is not motivated to change and think of special dishes ends up serving boring food. The food is good. I think you really will get a feeling of eating at an Estonian home. The food is homely, warming and there are some flavor combinations. My biggest compliment is that the food does take you on a journey, but nothing in the food is exciting. It’s all very safe. The best dish I had was the second starter. Because this dish at least tried to be exciting. Dish one also tried, but didn’t get very far. Dish three was very basic and dish four, the fish was ok … I could have cooked that the same way at home. Probably better. The wine was great and so was the service. But the major dissatisfaction was that I dined alone, no problem, I had fun. But the chef experience for one leaves out one desert and one main course. Which is weird. I would have paid more (shouldn’t have to) to get all the dishes. Overall 3/5 because I’ve eaten for less money outside Estonia and had better food.More

The service was spectacular. The food was an explosion of tastes on a plate combined with an unclear message and a strange Japanese-European mix. Perhaps it would be good to clear the vision and execute on that.

Avarage food - cheap food which does not match with prices. Poor choice, almost mocking actually if you think of offered incredience (cabbage, cucumber). No elaborate or fine textured food. Dissapointed.

We found the flavors kind of average and not actually that matching. The beef meat pieces were very badly cut, but in my experience that is actually rhe problem of Liivimaa "entrecote"

Walked past this restaurant just recently and felt like I need to write a review of my experience last year. We have gone there almost every year for our anniversary and last year was the first year, where we visited the place with its new...name and concept. The food was good but the service was absolutely horrible. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and the waitress couldn't get it open, and when she came to clean our table, she spilled the whole bottle on me and in addition dropped a plate on my dress. Afterwards she also refused to take the bottle off the bill even though we only got to enjoy one glass of it and it ruined my dress too. When we asked for a compensation she disappeared for 30 minutes and came back with a happy face like she is going to make us the biggest present ever and delivered the news, that she managed to get us a discount, and to our surprise when we looked at our bill then the 200-300€ bill had a WHOPPING 3€ DISCOUNT even though the bottle cost at least 10x more than that. Sad, we always liked this place. But now we are changing our yearly anniversary place due to this one encounter.More

We heard a lot of nice things about this place, but unfortunately the experience was somewhat different. All went on pretty good until my main, which was beef striploin. It was chewy and crispy in all the wrong places, felt like I was eating my...belt. I did not finish the dish and I very rarely feel the need to give a feedback, but this was the occasion. To my surprise, the waiter gave me a poor explanation on how they want to stay true to Estonian cuisine by using the Estonian beef and it just so happens that in some occasions the quality can vary. There are days when the quality is s*it apparently. Excuse me - what?! So it’s just my poor luck I got the short end of the stick this time? Let me get this straight, so you know there’s a problem with the quality, but still keep serving and charging? Maybe test try every now and then what you serve? My companion told the waiter he wasn’t too keen on the chickpeas on his dish. He was told the mushy peas were there for the ”crisp”. The absurdness of the situation left me speechless. There were no apologies, rather just him explaining how things work in their restaurant. I can easily forgive and forget some mistakes and I was planning on spending a nice evening there. It was the waiter’s attitude that really got under my skin. I travel around the world for work, never have I ever had to encouter this kind of attitude. Long story short: if the client’s not happy, it’s the client’s fault. If I were you, I’d take a good look in the mirror before going on. Otherweise the journey may not be that long. Tallinn is full of amazing restaurants, I suggest stepping up your game on customer service. Thank you to the last waiter who was charging us upon our departure and apologized what had happened. You couldn’t save the night anymore, it wasn’t your fault, but thanks for trying. It was sweet from you.More

Visited restaurant in June with couple of friend. We all had different appetizers and they tasted ok. For main we had fish and slow cooked pork neck. Steamed pike was tender and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately pork was overcooked and dry. When I gave feedback about...dry pork to the waitress, she just answered "ok" and took my plate. Don't know if she didn't care or didn't know what to do about it. For 20 € plate expected more. I travel often to Tallinn, but doubt that going to visit Lee restaurant again.More

The restaurant serves up Estonian fusion food with an Asian twist. It has a tasting menu which comes with several small appetizers, mains and a dessert, that diners leave to the discretion of the kitchen. Being an Asian I have expected to be pleasantly surprised,...but somehow every dish served came up flat to our palette. The Asian twist didn’t add to the dishes in our opinion. They are ok, not great and didn’t quite live up to the reviews I’ve read. The dessert was good though and the restaurant ground is pretty. The waiters (some more patiently than others) also took the effort to explain the idea behind each dish, which we appreciated. Just pity the food didn’t live up to the hype.More
