Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing pork, we had a pre-arranged meal that consisted of marinated Pork pieces with Potato chips and salad and it was absolutely amazing, the peach cheesecake for desert was tops also. The waitress also suggested the Herbal tea which hit the right spot on a...cool winters day. Well worth the trip out to the villageMore

I’ve been there since their opening and a couple of times over the years and they’ve developed the place nicely! A cool getaway from modern day. Has an awesome Game of Throne’ish Vikings vibe to it and the food and beverages are just delish. Not...far from Tallinn so if you’re near, do pay a visit! You can catch your own fish and have it prepared there. I never leave without a taste of their smoked cheese soup, though. That one is to die for. And the house beer is tasty!More

Amazing attention to detail in decorations at this little getaway from the modern day. Right next to a busy motorway but makes you forget all about your busy day. Lovely food and scenery! Great service!

That was a very authentic rustic Estonian restaurant with tasteful and large portions, very nice interior and exterior decoration. You can spend time in the properties surrounding, you can try your capability in archery, axe throwing, fishing or just walking in a superb scenery.

Ancient viking-style place, not a fancy restaurant what exactly I like! Excellent place for families w small children. Some activities in the yard: fishing, house animals, etc. Prices are higher but the stomach was very happy! Recommend to stop for a rest before long drive!

What a fantastic attraction. The food here was hearty and delicious, among our favourite meals during our trip. We booked a private tour through 'Estonian Experience' which included transfers - I highly recommend. The tour included archery and axe throwing, as well as getting to...play with a trebuchet. They have put a lot of work into the village, it is very clear, and it is well worth the visit. Our guide spoke good enough English, and was passionate about everything he spoke of.More

We were taken to this place by our friend living in Estonia otherwise we would have never learned about it. It is pretty far from Tallin and not much advertised. I found it really rural, no concrete roads only winding paths, a pond and the...forest around us. We saw people playing a siege-game there (yes. One group is attacking a plank fortress and the other is defending it), but we directly headed to our dinner. The main building has a restaurant and some rooms upstairs (we were told it is a "hotel"). Everything is made of wood. Food was delicious, but portions were small. We had to order more (and more) because we were still hungry. And one of the dishes (a kind of a pork stew) needed a bit more cooking as it was a bit chewy. Finally, after a lot of food and some desserts hunger was chased away. Drinks were a totally different category. Everything, really every single drink we tried was awesome. The local spirits, the honey beer... (the waitress couldn't tell which brand they were). Excellent drinks, again. It was a great experience, a bit calmer than I would expect from a viking village though. Recommended of course.More

This village is a must visit location, wander around the grounds and let your imagination soar. Fight, shoot archery, throw axes, and have fun. Would highly recommend for anyone interested in reenactment groups.

We had booked here rooms and venue for one night on a weekend because we had a party of our association. The place looks nice and the atmosphere is quite authentic. We had booked a Viking style program for 1,5-2 hours which was good fun...with our guide Neil. We had booked a set menu. The food was good, but there really wasn't food enough for our ~ 20 members party. That was quite bad thing. We had to ask more food from the kitchen because there were not enough meat for everyone!! Geez, guys!! This is not our image how vikings had their feasts. Maybe we should have booked a different menu but still. We saw that people on the restaurant's side had bigger portions than we did. Recommended for one night stay to check the area which is cool, but if you plan to have party over here be careful which set menu you choose. The menu number 3 isn't enough. Go with 4-6.More

I organized a meal for a group of visitors from the States and we had such a great time! Even the cat showing up and running through the legs of the guests was super! Hey! It's a Viking Village! Now about the food, WOW! The..."appetizer" (curry chicken) was a meal in itself! the pork loin was extremely tender and cooked perfectly. The salads were fresh and the potato salad was delicious. In fact, all the food was delicious and PLENTIFUL. The atmosphere was relaxed. All in all, a very positive experience. If this is helpful to you, please give me a "thumbs up". Thank you!More

Went there on a sunny summer Friday evening. Although there were still some free tables, after a while of waiting I went to the bar and asked for how long we have to wait for food? The answer was one hour. We get to the...car and after 40 minutes ended in Valkla Forell to have a very delicious smoked fish. I would be surprised to find myself at this Viikingite Kyla for another visit.More

After giving order we had to wait 1 hour and 50 minutes and after several times asking we got our food. During these almost 2 hours we had to withstand lots of drunk or very drunk Russians who had party in this tavern. Never-ever again...visit this place! The same words I heard from one other family who left some minutes before us.More

Pretty cool place. They've imponed a lot to create a unique environment. The food is pretty average unless you don't take the fresh fish. However, if you take it you have to consider that it might take some time. Even up to 2 hours waiting...but generally quite cute place it's own aura.More

We came here as an excursion for a cruise. We are a family of 9 (7 adults and 2 kids). We thought it might be a little hokey but good for the kids. However, this turned out to be a fun place for everyone. We...had fun exploring this Viking village and had lunch in a old style viking log cabin. The food turned out to be EXCELLENT! It wasn't your run of the mill - terrible Disneyland-ish food. It was an authentic Estonian meal. What a surprise!! We then had fun (adults and kids) doing archery, throwing axes, launching catapults and handling weapons and swords. We had a blast!!!! BTW - we wanted to thank Eva-Maria and her company, the Estonian Experience for offering this as a cruise excursion stop for Tallinn. This certainly was not on the crappy list of excursions offered on the cruise line!!!!!More
