About
A warm and cosy contemporary Asian-style decor: high vaulted ceiling, large windows, decoratively revealed fragments of brickwork, laconic dark wood tables (the larger ones,of course, equipped with a revolving central part) sans tablecloths, a stylised stupa andsakura branches on one side of the room. Authentic chairs (imported from China),impressive Zen-style loos built in antique medieval vaults. The central niche with its twored and gold-painted trees is reminiscent of the splendid landscapes in Hero, the fi lm bythe Chinese director Zhang Yimou. I saw I reviewed Chedi last in 2017; this review more or less holds. But I would probably still call it the best Asian in Tallinn, especially for first-time visitors; they never changing the menu since literally a decade is annoying for locals. Chedi once...was really fashionable; then declined; now it is back again, but in a more solid than hip way. The space is great. Service, especially table service, has improved; some more pandemic consciousness might be lovely. Guests tend to be a bit businessmeny, and in our area of the restaurant, at lunch there were not one but two "old businessman and very young niece" couples who insisted - the men I guess - to sit not across each other, but squeezed together on a bench. Yikes. Anyway, I am amazed that the kitchen was able to prepare really good dishes from what for them is a very boring menu - but they were. It was really good! There was a new dessert, a salted egg bao, which was really excellent (two can share one, i.e. one bao each). Recommended; will be back.More

Duck salad is super good. Portions are on small side - best way to enjoy is to order different disches and share with your friends.

As appetizers we had the soft shell crab, the wasabi shrimp and the shrimp and scallops dim sum. They tasted delicious and looked perfect. The main dishes, the grilled duck, and two fish dishes were also very good, a bit on the heavy side for...the sauces, but I liked it. It is somewhat pricy, but for Tallinn standards not unusual for a very good restaurant with a fancy ambiance.More

Location The restaurant is located at the edge of the city centre of Tallinn in a side street. Atmosphere The atmosphere is really nice. The place features a quite modern design that promotes an interesting combination of classical and modern Asian elements (but in a...way that stands out from the old-fahsioned Asian restaurants with its rich and overwhelming style). The interior design is really well-thought-out and consistent. All together, not only the food, but also the eyes are well pleased. Fantastic combination! Food We had the Chilean fish soup, the venison puff, smoked salmon, and the roasted duck. Without any questions, the chef is a true master of modern Asian cuisine and it was a great food experience. No old-fashioned heavy Asian food, but light and extremely tasty. This is the place to be, if you want to eat excellent Asian dishes. The portions are of a normal size. Restaurant Staff The waitress was very friendly and the service was excellent. Price-Quality Ratio The restaurant is somewhat expensive but, in general, fair priced for the excellent food and outstanding design. Conclusion All in all, this restaurant offers a modern Asian cuisine of outstanding taste with great and attentive staff. A great and calm place for all people who enjoy an excellent meal in a nice atmosphere. The toilets are clean and nicely designed. We will certainly come back. Best JSGMore

Chedi is a few minutes walk from the centre of the old town. We had booked but the restaurant wasn’t full. The food was delicious and the service professional and friendly. We started with prawn dim sum and wasabi prawns followed by curried prawns, honey...pork and stir fried brocolli. Every dish was fantastic. The decor is contemporary and stylish.More

Usually Asian restaurants are cheap take away places and many times restaurants in Old Town serve low quality with high prices. So we were really surprised to find this place, because they serve high quality, almost fine dining level food in beautiful enviroment. Prices are...quite high, but portions are big and beautiful and what's most important, food was absolutely delicious. Service was multi lingual, professional and friendly.More
