To miss this fantastic place while visiting Tallinn would be a mortal sin ! I don’t even know where to begin . The food (we had chimps , Ülos appetizer plate and tacos ) was not only a feast for your eyes , it was...also one of the best meals we’ve ever had. An explosion of all tastes in a perfect harmony . And that’s not all . Our waitress Johanna took her time to explain the menu and was charming , extremely professional and attentive through the whole visit . She even wrote us a cute , personal note on a napkin . A gesture that we will treasure for a long time !! She certainly deserves a raise !!!! We will be back and tell everyone to visit Ülo while in Tallinn . Thanks for a memorable experience .More

We went to Ülo on a Wednesday evening. We started in Old Town and kept working our way towards Telliskivi and found an open table at Ülo, so we stopped. First of, the service. Excellent (and YES, this IS reflected in the rating!) Very friendly...(it NEEDS to be to pass off WAY overpriced sprouts and convince you that you actually ate something worthwhile!) The servers were friendly, informative but not able to do much in the end (more later). We ordered 2, yes, 2 entres. Normally, my wife and I split a meal, but in this case we were advised to order TWO! My wife ordered 1, and ALL of the men in the group 2. I had the taco and sprouts and my wife ordered the sweet potato fries with (supposedly) kimchi. The portions were small, (I'm being kind) "miniscule" might be more accurate. As an entre, ONE TINY taco does not a meal make, unless you are a hummingbird. This literally is the smallest taco I've ever eaten. I am NOT joking! 3 of these tacos would have been appropriate SIZE for an entre, 2 for an appetizer, but ONE?? You have GOT to be joking! The appetizer-sized sprouts would have been great as an addition to a meal, but NOT AS A MEAL! The prices were insane considering the portion size. The prices were 2-3 times more than what is reasonable considering what you are served. I mean 9.8€ for a spoonful of sprouts?? The sprouts tasted O.K. (hence the rating above 1) but nothing spectacular. The taco's first bite was delicious, really. As I took that first bite, I thought, "WOW, I could eat 3 or 4 of these!" However, as we progressed through the morsel, all of us noticed just how salty the meat was. By the time we finished a single taco, we didn't want a second one. Well, our stomachs did, but our taste buds vetoed the idea. My wife's sweet potato fries were NOTHING special. We would have been better off to simply stopped by Burger King on the way. Same fries, 1/2 price. "Oh!" you say, "What about the kimchi??!! You don't get kimchi with the fries from Burger King!" True. Burger King is a global brand because they would NEVER serve anything so vile! The so-called kimchi is disgusting; I mean really nasty! I have eaten kimchi for years and have even spent many weeks in So. Korea. I have eaten MANY types and forms of kimchi but can honestly say that the kimchi from Ülo is the WORST I have ever tasted! Just NO! When we complained (YES! We were polite!) to the server she was unable to do ANYTHING. After choking down two entres, we left hungry. We didn't need to be stuffed, just not hungry! We were still hungry. So there you have it: - EXTREMELY small portions - WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!! - Taste simply OK to YUCK! - No satisfaction - Friendly staffMore

* The warmest, most welcoming staff I've ever experienced. Always have a smile on their faces and ready to answer questions, give recommendations etc. All the staff members are excellent, but I'd like to bring out Miia, who has this amazing positive vibe! * Wonderful...food! I have tried a lot of different things from their menu and the food never disappoints. Hats off to the kitchen crew for constantly delivering great meals. * Fantastic cocktails! The drinks are always on point. Maarika is my all time favorite :)More

We went twice and the food was always good and imaginative! A lot of veggie/vegan options, some gluten-free options, makes it special to our hearts. The patio is very nice during spring and the service has always been so welcoming and friendly. Special thanks to...our waiter today who wrote nice words on our bill and spoke a little French :) Although a bit expensive, this is one of our favorites place in Tallinn!More

We walked in without a reservation and they had a last table available. We’ve been here before but not for a while due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. A lot of the team members we knew there were not around. As usual, great dishes, service and...atmosphere.More

The Pikkpoiss (vegan meatloaf) was good but it didn't deserve a high price tag. It was fine but the sweet potatoes were the best in that dish.

The restaurant Ülo is worth visiting for multiple reasons: 1) The fresh bread! Their freshly baked bread is out of this world, worth the visit on its own! 2) Food, which is simple yet inspiring, tasty and refined yet casual. Worth every penny. 3) Triinu...Lotta Toots - our waitress! Her invigorating presence and her ability to predict our tastes and preferences impeccably - and match the drinks to fit that perfectly! She transformed the visit into an unforgettable night!More
