About
It would be a great pleasure for us to share with you the Southern flavors and our traditional Ukrainian hospitality, as well as to try to introduce the variety of rich Ukrainian cuisine from the West to the East and from the South to the North! We chose the heart of the ancient and glorious city of Tallinn as the place for our restaurant ODESA to warm up the breath of the Baltic, so even on the coldest and harshest days you could find here a little corner of sunny Odesa and feel the flavors and tastes of real Odesa! Your gastronomic impressions will be pretty added by the cozy restaurant atmosphere and nice view through the windows to the lovely Tallinn courtyard.

Restaurant was quite busy which meant it had a nice atmosphere. The tables were well spaced out so it wasn’t cramped or noisy. And stylishly done. We were given complimentary snacks of smoked herring on a black bread which was delicious. The complimentary shot of...vodka and horseradish was, well…….different ! The food was really good and portion sizes ample.More

I go there again and again. Be sure to try their Odesa style Meze or at least the vorschmak, Blue mussels and Tartare “Sea. Voyage”. They have a wide selection of menus, be sure to try different Ukrainian dishes - one visit will definitely not...be enough. However, the icing on the cake is definitely their Kiev tart. Due to the war, it makes more sense to reserve a table for peak times.More

I have been in this place a few times before with a good experience so I came with a group of friends now. Not good this time! Had to wait for ages for each dish. When they finally arrived, warm dishes were cold. Waiting for...the bill was most aggravating; while preparing for it the waiter dashed twice off to serve dishes to different tables. All the while there was a matron just standing around, and not putting in any kind of effort to help out even though she clearly knew we were waiting and waiting and waiting. Previously I'd been offered an a kitchen's greeting of a shot and a small bit of a snack, and they were carried to other tables this time too, but we didn't get any. You can hardly ask for it because you haven't ordered it, but why weren't we welcome this time?More

We were very satisfied with food, service and everything else. Unfortunately I didn’t make any photos from plates, but they were quite big. So 3-course meal was plenty. So 3-course dinner with couple drinks was approx. 45€/per. Very recommended. Ranking should be even higher. We...had table for 11 person.More

We visited here for dinner while we were in Tallin as part of a Baltic Capitals tour and we had a very good dinner. The food was really good and very much "real" Ukrainian food. The staff were friendly and made us really welcome and...the prices were good value. Like others here I really liked the horseradish vodka that we were offered - certainly a new one to me. The portions were very substantial, so I would suggest to take that into account when ordering if you have a relatively small appetiteMore

Great service and great food. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, service was attentive without being intrusive or rushed, and there was a great menu choice. We were brought a lovely amuse bouche with horseradish vodka, which was delicious! Portion sizes were perfect, and the...food was piping hot. We would definitely recommend.More

We were wandering and it was time to eat and this place had been recommended by our concierge. Good call. Really like comfort food - everything is somehow homey and tasty. Quiet dining room and great service. We’d happily return.

...for a wedding anniversary dinner, for example. We could say something nice about the starters, of course, but I've never had Chicken Kiev as delicious as here, and my beloved wife really loved her "Rustic deruny (potato fritters) with tongue". Staff: 10+, atmosphere almost the...same, definitely worth going!More

Highly recommend this restaurant. Staff very friendly and efficient. Surroundings lovely and atmosphere great. Just a note, it is at basement level and the shop above it is for sale so initially it appears closed. Food is Ukrainian and very different for this British visitor....Thoroughly enjoyed it. Portions are large so we did over order but managed to fit it all in! We particularly enjoyed the vodka flight and the aubergine caviar.More

We enjoyed our evening here - delicious food, attentive staff. And a vodka shot as an amuse-bouche. What more you could want? :-) We reserved which was a good idea as it is deservedly popular.

Excellent food that takes a modern yet still distinctive take on Ukrainan cousine, attentive staff, and a cosy and unique locality made for a very good experience. Only caveat would be that one needs to be able to go down some steep stairs to get...to it, being in a cellar in the old town.More
