Based on the reviews, my husband and I stayed in the guest house and had dinner. A mistake. We walked the town and found many other nice places but decided to eat here. First we were told the restaurant did not open till 8 pm....We arrived at 8 pm to be told there might not be room! They did find a table and the service was horrible. Once the service began, we were told the kitchen was closing at 9 pm. (BUT they only opened at 8 pm ....catch ..... There was a private party no one told us about!) Dinner progressed and the only good thing I can say is that the French Fries were hot. The mangos served with the dish were green,hard and not eatable. The fish, over cooked, and well.....so it went. With other choices in this town ... Choose another . I must say .... I am a SNOB when it comes to food so my expectations are very high. But considering this meal ....if you want a nice romantic meal, look elsewhere. Family style .... You will probably be happy.More

Restaurant Katariina Kelder is mine and my wife`s favourite restaurant for more than 15 years. Food has been always tasty, portions are big and not expensive. French meat is the best choice. Also beer is cheepest I ever noticed in the large world. Only 2....50 €. And that`s not all. On saturday nights there`s always live music, different good dance bands. We love to dance rock and roll, cha- cha and rumba, That`s the place we enjoy it . Keep going, management and staff of this fabulous place! Only thing: you should improve ventilation, we always get wet when dancing...More

Well...we went for a lunch,I had seljanka soup and dessert. My partner had a main dish. To be honest I didn't actually like any of 3 meals we ordered. I was happy the water tasted the way the water tastes as I was really thirsty....To the managment I recommend to review and renew the menu. Design was quite ok however the chairs were not so comfortable, but in 5 minutes I got used to them. Our waitress was a friendly girl.More

We really liked the place! After all those high prices in Tallinn we were really happy to have great meal that wasn't so expensive. We had grilled pork in wine sauce, salmon soup, pepper steak, red wine, tea and a piece of cheesecake. The pleasure...in every bite, my friends. Highly recommended.More

Nice place to have a dinner. Quiet, friendly, with tasty cuisine. Most of all dishes I liked grilled salmon. Tasty apple and pear cider.

We visited the restaurant two times. First time we went there quite late and there were only few daily offers that we didn't want. I ordered from à la carte menu French meat which was absoluteley delicious and my date ordered also some meat with...wine souce or something like that and it also was very good. The portion was so big that I couldn't ate all. Waitress seemed to me a little sleepy and sad. The next day we went there in the morning and got some daily offers. Salad and potato-meat casserole were also sooo delicious. And the service was also nice. Daily offers are cheap and à la carte menu is also suitable.More

Simple and with moderate price guesthouse in centre of Rakvere, in old part of town.Close to Rakvere Theatre and many coffe-houses.

We were sorry we did not make the effort to explore other dinner options in town, but we were tired and chose "The Cellar," the restaurant below the guesthouse where we were staying. The menu was uninspired, food just edible, and service inept. The restaurant...had no charm. Don't make the same mistake we did--go out and explore other options.More
