Just been there for dinner with my family. All was fine, food was nice. Shock came when the food for my children was hugely overpriced. They had plain home made tagliatelle and small piece of chicken breast (I estimate around 75g). I asked for fresh...chopped cucumber and carrot. We litteraly got 6 tiny slices of cucumber and maybe 8 mini julienne pieces of faded carrot. Charge? 8€ for food and 3€ for veggies! So my 5 year old had 11€ dinner (times 2 as we had 2 kids eating). Children eat cheaper in the UK! Don't have pictures. Food for other people was delicious and reasonably priced. I feel insulted as we are (after this experience used to be) returning customers.More

We also came on TA reviews. They do seem to supply menus to locals that where there for a quick lunch. However we went with the flow and asked the chef for his recommendations. He seemed surprised we didn't want to start with soup but...offered us choices of fish, steak or vegetable dishes. He gave us some warm bread rolls with sauerkraut filling which were delicious. Chose the fish and steak which were both beautiful fresh cooked perfectly with simple vegetable accompaniment. The chocolate cheesecake was to die for. A slight negative. He sent us out salads while waiting for our meals that we later found on our bill. Also I asked for dessert my husband said no thanks. Two were sent out. We didn't make a fuss and paid for it all. Felt a slight case of ' take advantage of the tourists'. There was no language barrier so lesson learnt for us not to be too easy going and let the chef take charge.More

Very good food, all fresh products, no menu, the host tells you in person what is available when you are there. Super friendly host, service was great.

When sitting in the restaurant, the cook explained for the starter, main course as well as desert what he can offer and asked what we would like to have. Afterwards we became a very fresh, delicious and big menu. I really enjoyed the food and...the time in the reataurant. The next time I'll be in Zilina, I'll come back for sure! =)More

We came to the restaurant based on positive TripAdvisor references, but when we entered the restaurant, we wanted to turn around and go back – strange small dark place without guests (it was late afternoon) and terrace more like in home cottage not a restaurant....After we finished our meal, we had to apology to the owner and chef for our initial distrust. It is a real family restaurant how it should look like! The chef could be a star in any restaurant in Prague. If you go there, don’t choose from menu – it´s boring. Let the chef to offer you daily specialties. Everything he cooks is only best fresh food made on grill with a salt and pepper allow excelling its own delicious taste. It’s very simple Italian style cousin you have to admire! This is a restaurant I would definitely stop if going around Žilina. Many thanks for this culinary experience!More

Went in completely randomly, place was almost empty, but what a surprise awaited. Firstly the place is really family run, the chef and owner in one person is a really nice guy, who likes what he does. I did not get any classic menu, which...is a bit surprising, but I actually like this. We discussed what I feel like and the chef recommended some of the plates available. Fair enough, corageous approach, probably not to everyone's taste, but I like it. Food was very good, but not really that special. Do not get me wrong, I liked what I got, the scallops just barely cooked, how they should be done, the salad was also very nice, but it is clear that the kitchen is run singlehandedly, thus there is no room for more sophisticated preparations. Nevertheless, the quality of the food together with the homely feeling justify the 5* (the food itself would be 4*). The place is a bit on the expensive side, but still a very fair price for what you get. Hat off to the owner for trying this in Zilina.More

We visited this place based on reviews on tripadvisor. Since the app is not very popular in Slovakia and there is limited nr of reviews we are allways sceptical (couple of negative experinces despite high reviews in the past) However we have to say thw...food was delicious. A little bit surprised that we were not offered the printed menu, but the owners recommendations were on point. Had grilled salmon with salad & grilled goat cheese with salad. Fresh and good quality ingredients. The salad had unique taste not the typical vegies & olive oil you get in Slovak restaurant.More

Very nice food. We had salad and it was really delicious. Plus we had very tasty cake for free and our child could stay plain in small playground in the garden.

We had a very warm welcome in this small restaurant. The restaurant has a cosy terrace. The cook uses fresh ingredients and gave use some nice suggestions for dinner (also for vegetarians).
