Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a great place, and lovely to sit and drink their delicious beer while the beer maker was opening, sniffing, and adding tings to the fermenting copper vats in the bar. They serve a great "beer tasting" with about 6 good six beers. We...did not eat, but the food we saw looked good. Everyone around us was having a good time.More

We stumbled upon the restaurant and chose to dine based on both reviews and the gimmick around the age of the establishment. This is a review of two parts - first the food - incredible! Without fault. Good portions, well cooked and clearly nice ingredients....I’d return for the food in a heartbeat. The second part was the service…. I hate to complain about the hospitality industry but being presented with unclean cutlery, which upon showing the waiter, was then scrutinised at the table by said waiter including a delightful bit of business with scratching at the blemish on the blade…. The wrong drinks order; apparent disbelief at our drinks order (and subsequently ignoring what we’d asked for) proved to be the way this was going…! For the food? I’d cross continents but for the service, I’d not cross a cycle lane.More

Bad weather and a desperate need for beer brought us there and it was definitely a good choice. While we expected the beer to be great, we were surprised by the quality of food. The best tatar in our lives!

Having checked Tripadvisor reviews of restaurants in Kosice while visiting the town, we went there for lunch and were not disappointed. We had fried cheese with chips and some drinks. All was good, although we expected some small side salad to accompany the meals. I...had a 2.2% Kyselac beer which was excellent. Coffee was good too. Overall, decent food and drinks. Service was fast. Very good value for money.More

Came here to try the oldest restaurant in Slovakia, at least is what they say. The place is huge, very wide and lot of space even underground. The service and food not incredible, but was ok and reservation well handle. Waiter crashed a glass accidentaly...behind me (bad energy) and meat was not so fresh, but we enjoyed the beers!More

Went to this pub to try their craft beer in the afternoon and was impressed with them. Ended doing back again for dinner and some more beers. Excellent service and the price was good.

For me definitley one of the best ones in Kosice. Mainly due to fish and chips and the selection of beers. Always a great selection of beera on tap. Also the burgers are delicious too. Well done. Thumbs up

This was plan B for us after not being welcomed at Med Malina. Very happy about the experience! House beer was great, aged beef steak cooked to perfection! Service impeccable. Highly recommend!

Went here during a business trip to the city. The restaurant is the oldest place in the country dating several hundreds years back. However their own crafted beer was good and tasty, we tried a few, and the standard blonde ale was our favorite. For...meals, I ordered the Fish & Chips and my colleague the ribs. We were both happy with the selection, the fish was fresh and the fries cooked nice and crispy, definitely among the better F&C I’ve had. My colleague also appreciated the tender and juicy ribs. Serving was nice and polite, so overall a good experience, which we can recommend.More

Used to be good, but the prices of the food have greatly increased while the size of portions and quality of food have decreased. The fish in the 'fish n chips' was half fish half batter, the bean salad was a bit boring, everyone's chips...were shrunken and cold. Still, the beers are good and we had very friendly service. We'll be giving them another chance for food, but only one.More

Had there a teambuilding for 7 people. Booked a outside space in advance to ensure we have space. Restaurant is opening in Summer after 4PM ! which is a nonsense but saw this on several others. The beer offer is excellent, homebrew the food offer...is a standard for this sort of restaurant. variety was good , well prepared...I had ribs and was bit dissapointed for the missing dips and vegetable selectionMore

It was packed outside, so we went inside where it was totally empty. Later on, extremely loud group of czech tourists visited and we decided to move on. Of course that was not fault of the brewery, which is by the way one of oldest...pubs in Slovakia. In the meantime I tried pork cheeks. Those were extraordinarily tender. I tried local beers as well, however almost all were very fruity, which I did not appreciate that much. I like IPA style of beer, but those were way too crazy IPAs... . Staff was very responsive until the group of tourists came. Since then, the young man did not show at our table with such frequency as before. 😊 we decided to leave because of the noise anywayMore

Hostinec is a great place for drinks only, lunch or diner! Inside the pub you can witness the brew process! We had a great lunch and started with a beer taster round. The waitress was very friendly and kind. You should visit the place when...you are in Kosice.More

Our last evening in Kosice and we came here for something different. The welcome was good, the food was good and we were looking for Slovak food and the beer was good too. We had a an evening that ended with two Slovak digestifs, Demankova...- both plain and cranberry and a new one for us - Bentianna with honey but not sickly sweet. If you want something different, try here but if you want international food perhaps not!More
