Really mind staff, wonderful enteriour with hostorical stories and design. Very-very delicious meals, huge portions, tasty own-brewed beers. Central location in the Old Town.

Great food

Established in 1542 it is one of the oldest running hotels. Now a boutique brewery and is serving fabulous food. We had the Gnocchi with smoked pork knuckle and the gnocchi with sheep cheese. Both were equally delicious.

They make really good beers!

It was a great place, and lovely to sit and drink their delicious beer while the beer maker was opening, sniffing, and adding tings to the fermenting copper vats in the bar. They serve a great "beer tasting" with about 6 good six beers. We did not eat, but the food we saw looked good. Everyone around us was having a good time.

Beer was good but that’s all

I been invited to this place by my friend. We wanted to drink and eat. But all we managed was to get 2 beers… As the waiter was way too busy serving all the other tables , with more people than we were . So he did what he thought was the better for the business and didn’t care about our table at all after about 40 min he came to us and asked if we needed anything but at that point we decided to leave. Such a shame .. terrible management. Wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t gonna bring with you about 6+ people. 2 people for them make no difference

The best food and drink I encountered during my vacation in Košice

The Hostinec beer alone is a reason to visit the oldest restaurant in the world. And then there is the food, very delicious. I have been there 5 times now. They serve traditional Slovak food. But there is also something for all other tastes. The staff is also very friendly. Go inside too! Don't sit outside on the street

The oldest restaurant in Slovakia

Came here to try the oldest restaurant in Slovakia, at least is what they say. The place is huge, very wide and lot of space even underground. The service and food not incredible, but was ok and reservation well handle. Waiter crashed a glass accidentaly behind me (bad energy) and meat was not so fresh, but we enjoyed the beers!

Fantastic bar!

An absolutely fantastic bar in Kosice, right in the centre on the main pedestrianised street. We loved this place for its outstanding beer / drinks menu, the staff who are brilliant and the food. The building itself inside is also beautiful. The staff who served us were friendly, professional and efficient. The beers were awesome and the fried flatbread was awesome. If you're in town pay it a visit, it's a fantastic place. Thanks to all the staff.

The oldest brewery in Slovakia

The oldest brewery in Slovakia. A very touristic place and thus less authentic. Brewery offers about six types of beer, not all of them a hit for my taste. There is a food menu. The food level is reasonable, nothing more. Average level service. Location in the heart of the old city.

Waste of time

We passed the place on several occasions and different times of day and it never seemed to be open. As we didn't want to play pool upstairs, we didn't go to that part, but we saw no movement at all. A shame, as I had done my homework and went to Kosice with this on my bucket list.

Super Slovak Beer

This brewery had really great beer and Slovak bar food. The atmosphere was pleasant and industrial and the service was very friendly and the fastest I've ever seen. Highly recommend.

Great Food but mediocre service

We stumbled upon the restaurant and chose to dine based on both reviews and the gimmick around the age of the establishment. This is a review of two parts - first the food - incredible! Without fault. Good portions, well cooked and clearly nice ingredients. I’d return for the food in a heartbeat. The second part was the service…. I hate to complain about the hospitality industry but being presented with unclean cutlery, which upon showing the waiter, was then scrutinised at the table by said waiter including a delightful bit of business with scratching at the blemish on the blade…. The wrong drinks order; apparent disbelief at our drinks order (and subsequently ignoring what we’d asked for) proved to be the way this was going…! For the food? I’d cross continents but for the service, I’d not cross a cycle lane.

Great beer, lovely food

Bad weather and a desperate need for beer brought us there and it was definitely a good choice. While we expected the beer to be great, we were surprised by the quality of food. The best tatar in our lives!
