Visited here for my wife's birthday as part of a few night stay in Kosice. Visiting from Liverpool, we picked this restaurant for our main "expensive" meal during our stay.
Definitely picked the right establishment. The waiter provided his expert knowledge on the food and we started with French onion soup and the snails. The starters were delicious.
We then had lamb with spinach mash and medallions delicious with dauphinoise potato.
Both starter and mains were delicious for us both. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Paid 62 euros for 2 two courses and four drinks. Compared to UK prices, this was an amazing price for amazing food.

Fantastic restaurant hidden slightly from the Main Street. Wanted something vegetarian but not the ubiquitous pizza or pasta options on offer elsewhere. Despite having no reservation we were welcomed and offered a table immediately. The waiter was patient with our limited understanding and carefully explained the food options in faultless English. Both the field mushroom risotto and the spaghetti were excellent, as was the extremely garlicky bruschetta. Would definitely go again

We visited in June 2022, and had a lovely dinner. They spoke good English, and the service was great. For a meal with 3 drinks, 2 appetizers and 2 main courses, we spent around 30 euros. Especially the lemon risotto of the seasonal menu was excellent, but in all, everything we ordered was delicious! Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside, but we also did not reserve a table up front. Would definitely recommend!

We have visited Le Colonial many times but the last time it was a total disaster. An interminable wait for food, the quality of which was average. It didn't even match the ranking of this restaurant in the city - it really isn't 2nd best. Quite inattentive service, who only consistently explained to us why another table was preferred, where the regular customers of the establishment were obviously sitting. If the management of the restaurant does not explain to the waiters that circling around selected guests with a view of the expected tip will discourage other customers, then things will not get better here. ☹

We went to lunch in this restaurant which is located in a passage perpendicular to the main street of Kosice. It consists of 2 beautiful rooms, one outside sheltered from the sun and one inside air-conditioned. We liked lunch with well served fish, so we came back for dinner .. Good service with the server boss who speaks English and is nice.

Le Colonial has the most extensive and varied menu among the restaurants we tried, and it is clearly a fine dining experience rather than a pizza and burger joint. One of us had the crunchy salmon with salad and the other had prosciuito-wrapped lamb with spinach mash and red wine sauce. The former was unusual and worked very well with its nutty crust. The latter was as rich as it sounds, but absolutely delicious and very digestible! I had a glass of a very smooth local cabernet sauvignon recommended by the waiter. As ever in Kosice, the price was amazingly reasonable for the excellent quality of the fare.

Visited May 9th 2022 for dinner it was absolutely amazing, staff really attentive without being over the top. Food was very good between 3 of us we had coconut soup, onion soup and charcuterie board, mains crusty salmon, rigatoni and beef and pork couldn’t fault any of it. Highly recommended well worth a visit

We ate twice during our holiday.
Both times the service was very good and friendly. It's very clean, friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere. Very delicious food for starters, mains and desserts. You can see and taste that it is prepared with passion. Highly recommended!!!

Nice table under barnum outside, kind waiter, very nice dishes well prepared and well cooked. We enjoyed it.
Deserts were excellent as well and wine choice well done

Great service. We have known the restaurant for over 20 years, and to be honest, it is really excellent. Last year my husband said it was my birthday (we go there every year) but he mentioned it first and I got a bottle of wine as a gift (I was very happy).

I ordered the grilled vegetables and it was perfectly grilled & very tasty. We ordered the salmon tagliatelle which was with Asparagus and strangely with black and green olives. I put the olives aside and then it was good. The escargot was ok but don’t expect parisien standard. The waiters recommendation was great for the main course. The service was fantastic and staff very friendly. The decorations were very nice and gave the colonial atmosphere.

We had the french onion soup (I’ve eaten better), avocado-asparagus tartar (which was good) and pork with mushrooms sauce. I wasn’t impressed by any of the dishes. The service was decent and the prices were normal, beautiful interior design.

Was on a business trip in Košice, and found this restaurant from Tripadvisor, we chose this one as Slavia doesn’t have an English menu online but this one does.
Staff were friendly, not crowded even on a local holiday made me doubt my choice in the beginning, it turned out to be worth it as the quality of the courses was decent. However, it can be a bit overpriced for locals.
