A must for lovers of great Indian food

Visited as a family group, wife, daughter and grandson. We sat in the garden terrace area, light and relaxed. As we had travelled over 2 hours to get there we want to indulge ourselves opting for the choice from the full menu rather than the budget day meal. A waiter promptly appeared with menus, he spoke English very well, however the menu is printed in Slovak and English. We ordered popadoms with mango chutney to start, excellent especially the mango. I chose a main dish of Mutton Madras, it was superb and very spicy, just as I like my Indian food. Wife and daughter chose Chicken Tikka Masala, their number one choice Indian. It was a little more spicy than they expected but they were more happy with the food. For grandson we chose Chicken Korma as it was not very spicy, he eat it with glee. We ordered side dishes of Basmati rice, Kemna nan and a vegetable masala. All the food was excellent, as good as any Indian we have had in the UK. As we had ordered too much, the waiter kindly had the excess food packed for us to take home. We noticed people eating the day menu, this looked plentiful and interesting too, but given that we are not locals we indulged ourselves. Next time we visit Kosice we will definitely visit again.

Great Indian meal with family

Whilst visiting Kosice, we booked a table and had a very enjoyable meal here with family. The staff spoke to us in english as soon as they answered the phone, presumably because we called using a UK mobile, making the whole process simple. The restaurant is much larger than we initially thought as it opened up towards the back. The whole venue was spotlessly clean and welcoming. Our starters consisted of pakora and samosa's. The pakora were flatter than those we normally eat in the UK but this meant they weren't doughy in the middle and were enjoyed by all. The Samosas were large and also very tasty. For our mains we ordered a butter chicken, and a chicken and mutton lamb tikka masala, with rice and a plain and garlic naan. All the curries were excellent. The butter chicken wasn't as buttery as some we have tasted in the UK but was very good and flavoursome. Service was attentive and our waiter spoke very good english making our experience very good. Looking forward to visiting again.

Solid meal, Fair service

I saw some reviews critical of the service, and I’d have to agree. Not real friendly, and no follow-up. I had to flag them down for another water, another napkin, and to pay. But I don’t go for the service. The food was very good. The garlic naan was garlicky and moist, and the madras chicken was tasty and spicy hot. I didn’t order rice at first but realized I’d need it to offset the hot food. But I’m glad it was so spicy and not bland.

Superb food and excellent service. We live just over 2 hours drive away so it is a committed visit for my wife and myself. We had popadoms to start, then my wife had a main course of chicken tikka masala. I had a spicy king prawn dish, all accompanied by rice and garlic nan. We departed full and well satisfied. We have tried another Indian restaurant in Kosice but it failed to reach the quality standards of Little India.

Great Indian food

Great Indian food. We checked on TripAdvisor and found this gem of a place. The portions were generous. Garlic nan was terrific. Butter Chicken was great! We had problems stopping to eat!

Very tasty!

To pit it in simple words, for me deffinitley the best place with the most delicious dishes to offer. The chef knows how to make the dish special. Im a huge fan of indian food and tried many restaurants all around the world and for a small city like Kosice, little india is at the top. Always a great choice for fam dinner. Well done. Big thumbs up

Good food, but arrogant waiter and not served 1 hour before closing time

Visited this place several times and food was always tasty, but on 25th October we were "greeted" by a really arrogant waiter. Hard to see such a behavior in gastronomy. Moreover, we were refused to serve salads, starters and even hot tea on the basis that they are closing in one hour. So, all in all, a good place, but I am not sure if I ever want to experience staff person who looks down on guests and speaks to them as if they were redundant part of worn shoes.

Last chance. I mean it this time.

Food was fine (this time we ate in the restaurant rather than had a takeaway) but the waiter was slow and miserable (barely looked at me or at other customers, let alone smiled) and the menus were literally falling apart, which is never a good sign, nor were there paper hand towels in the ladies' toilets. Also, there's simply no atmosphere in the place, not helped by the random Indian news station or lack of music or the waiter's attitude. They need to realise that people aren't just paying for food, they're paying for the whole experience of an evening meal out.

Perfect food! Perfektne jedlo!

We took 4 meals and all 4 meals were perfect and chicken cream soup was the best cream soup which I’ve ever eaten. Dali sme si 4 jedla a všetky 4 boli perfektne a krémová polievka bola asi najlepšia krémová polievka, ktorú som kedy jedla.

Cancels order because of no delivery driver (while still apparently 'open' on Bistro SK) then says they will deliver the food anyway by taxi, then cancels 30 mins later because Bistro has cancelled the order, but WON'T accept our cash for the order. Never again.

We just visited this place, because we love indian food. Nice looking place, kind and quick waitress, indian chef. We recommend, we were there 2 times, our coworkers wanted to try and they were also satisfied
