In the heart of town, this is a friendly pub that serves good, hearty meals. We had Pork Belly Slices with Condiments & Bread to start folllowed by mains of Pork with Bacon Sauce & Potato and Chicken with Mushroom Sauce & Potato Pancakes. The cooking isn't as good as somewhere like Villa Regea but is perfectly adequate.
With three beers the final bill came to around €36 with a tip or around £33 so great value for two.

Service superb. Beer great. Steak decent. Chips ok. Burger good. Ketchup could be of better quality. Plumb sauce over bearing. overall very acceptable, and would eat here again.

I went with friends from Hungary who had been previously, and loved it.
Of the 4 wait staff who looked after us, 3 were lovely. One, however, was resolutely hostile. We addressed him in Hungarian, and he didn’t respond. Fair enough: it’s a lovely language, but not universal. I tried English, and that didn’t work either. Really?!? Zero to that surly man for his nasty little attitude. Why on earth would you be in a hospitality industry, if you resent customers…?
The food was good. Would I go back?
No.

There were about 12 of us. Here in Košice for a family wedding a couple of days later. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with us. One person ordered the goulash and two bottles of red wine for the group. The goulash came well before the red wine. The meat was tough and gristly, the flavour was lacking.,very very disappointing. More or less finished the meal and then one bottle of wine appeared- we couldn’t be bothered to argue for the other bottle.

Disgraceful lack of service. Sat down quick service on drinks, drinks were fine, had to find own menus.. eventually flagged down waiter to order - minimum 1 hour wait for food - suppose it was better than letting us order and just leaving us to wait… food on the other tables looked good though!!
When eventually told 1 hour wait tried to pay (for drinks) so we could leave and find somewhere for dinner - begged to pay !!! They couldn’t be bothered with that either.
Advice - stop in for a quick drink on the way to dinner - it’s free!!

Went for dinner… We were two of about six people in the restaurant, and it took just over an hour to get our food. And you’d think the food would be good after all that time! It was not !
Don’t recommend if you’re hungry.

we had a reasonable meal in the bar area. the food was wholesome and tasty. The beer was very frothy for british tastes as some glasses were served of complete froth and needed time to settle before they could be drunk! overall a pleasant experience

We booked this restaurant last minute for dinner in June. The staff were very friendly and the drinks were constantly replenished by an eagle eyed waiter.
The wait for food was quite lengthy, but they were very busy and we were kept hydrated. Starters of butternut soup, mackerel pate and veal pastrami were delicious as were the mains of duck, pork and grilled cheese. The carlsbad dumplings here were the best I've tasted yet.
We didn't have any desserts as the portions are quite generous! Recommend to family's looking for a casual dinner spot. Mains averaged at 13 euro, starters between 4-7 euro.

So decided to go here as my husband liked the look on Trip Advisor. So we order the Goulash, sorry not ready as were 3/4 of the items on the menu so ended up ordering sausages and soup in a bread bowl. Food was tasty enough but not what we really wanted. Beer average. Staff OK. Left feeling disappointed.
