Govinda presents excellent vegetarian fare in a city where vegetables might seem rare on restaurant tables. Each day's fixed-price "menu" features an assortment of Indian-inspired dishes including soups, tofu, chutnies, and fried grain and vegetable croquettes. I found the 4 Euro menu plate to be...satisfying and sufficient; the 5 Euro plate offers larger portions and return visits to the serving counter. Govinda offers both indoor and outdoor seating: the latter is in a delightful courtyard affording tables in either shade or the sun. For me, Govinda was a welcome alternative to the typical meat-, animal fat- and starch- rich cuisine typical in Presov eateries. It is a little more expensive than many other places, but well worth it for both taste and nutritional value.More

i have several experience with old govinda where food was delicious and atmosphere unique. i went to this govinda hlavna street and i am dissapointed. Food was tasteless, no seasoning at all. Feels like cheap canteen. I found a hair in my food as well....Bad experience for travelers as well especially when they compare to prague's govinda at liben. So it is OK when you only want some vegie food but do not await anything similar to prague's atmosphere and service.More
If you are looking for a vegetarian food then Govinda is a good choice. But it is not a restaurant, rather canteen. The food is good and you do not have to ask staff whether it is vegetarian for sure - like in some other...restaurants in town where fried cheese with ham (vyprazany syr so sunkou) is considered a vegetarian meal:) They only have one meal every day, nice selection of little deserts and they provide take-away as well. You can choose from 3 different "sizes" of meal costing from 3,5euro and up. Cake and savoury (chutovka) are not included. They are now in a new location on Main (Hlavna) street, so easier to find. Limited opening hours, from 11am to 6.30pm.More
