Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is amazing! It is ridiculously small and always crowded, but the food! Lovely owner choses top ingredients to prepare variety of interesting and delicious soups and dishes. You can literally taste the quality in each meal you take there. The atmosphere is unique, food is superb and it is worth following the blog on the webpage.

Bistro Polievocka is not just a street food it’s a community of artists, and creative individuals who come here for lunch everyday. The food is prepared by a charismatic owner who travels a lot and collects recipes from all around the world. Ingredients are fresh and produced by local farmers.
Here are some tips I gathered during my almost daily visits:
1. Don’t get scared by the name “soup” in the menu. Soups from here are rich and served as a main meal. Take a 600ml and you’ll have a problem to finish it.
2. Come later. Bistro opens 11:15 and by 12:00 there is usually a 15 - 20 min waiting in the row outside. But don’t come too late! There is a limited number of portions!
3. Be prepared. The menu is changing everyday. Check what they have on their website: bistropolievocka.sk there is an English menu. The size is 400ml or 600ml People in the row behind you will thank you :)
4. Don’t count on sitting inside. The table is usually taken. But you can take a takeaway and eat it in the nearby park Medicka zahrada.
5. They are usually closed on Fridays
and weekends.
Enjoy your food!

You never had better! This hidden gem is very close to The Bus Station in the business area of Bratislava. Small business, fresh food, incredible taste. Every day different menu, friendly, charismatic owner serving you such a delicious food. Your body will keep telling you 'thank you, I love you' for the rest of your day. Really! It happened to me ;) I had a lentils soup and I was surprised by a creative approach to this favorite Slovak soup. It included pineapple, curry, turkey, and a splash of lime. Food was filling and served with nice fresh bread. It is a very small place - you have only 2 tables and take away. That type of restaurants where people are happily waiting in a long cue before they get their bowl of happiness. Secret tip: come after 13.30 to avoid the peak and you will be served immediately and enjoy a little chat with sweet staff. Prices are even more friendly than the owner.

Nice people cooking great food. I often stop by, because I cannot resist their comforting and rich soups. And cakes. This is real food, you would, with no useless additives. Sometimes, it means good old comforting mummy soups, sometimes suprising combinations, but always interesting.

I was in Bratislava on business for a few weeks and went to this place almost every day. The lady who makes the soups knows the recipe to 400+ soups and they are all delicious. They let us taste the different healthy soups and we're incredibly kind. They even started making an English menu again after we came a few times. Highly recommend this lunch place! Vegans and non-vegans would love it!

I am not fan of soups. But have to admit that soups are amazing here. I would say that this place is mainly for local. But anyway worth for visit.

I found this nice and welcoming place thanks to the Internet. Bistro is located next to Hrad: small, cozy, incredible clean premises with friendly owners. Soups are prepared to meet different tastes and the menu is changing daily (you can always check online before going there). Go early as Polievocka is open till 3:30 PM (be aware it is closed on weekends). Highly recommended!

small, cosy place near the castle. Focuses mainly in soups, but they have a few main dishes each day.
Portions of the soups are generous, total massacre with the main dish. do not even think about having a cake. They are tasty, but after soup, there will be no space in your belly. :-)
If you are chilled to the bone and you wish to warm yourself up,with some hearty meal, this place will, make you happy.

Came there with two friends for lunch after visiting the Bratislava's castle. The place is small but cosy. The menu consists of mainly soups, freshly made, really hard to choose from. The lentil soup I had there was one of the best soups ever. And my friends seemed to be quite happy with theirs too. We finished with some very tasty raw cakes. I can fully recommend Bistro Polievocka and am certainly coming back.

We arrived early (11am), the waiter was just finishing the menus for the day - yeah, that's right; every day a new menu. First big asset!
Food was very tasty and especially natural! There are also a lot of gluten-free choices e.g. Both soups and main meals were delicious. Prices very good fit too!
We were the only tourists there. Highly recommendable.
