Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My boyfriend and I had the loveliest of lunches here today. We had high expectations and these were definitely met. Both the food and the service were excellent. I had a chicken broth that was just like mum makes it (Jewish penicillin!) and a rabbit...leg with gnocchi that was truly excellent. I would absolutely recommend this place.More

We tried the taste menu. Portions were very large. Food tasted very good. A good wine combination. Location is at a hotel but restaurant is separated from the rest of hotel with a door that keeps any notice of the hotel outside. The atmosphere is...very nice and elegant. Service was very good. Recommend to go there to experience good food. Pricy but worth it.More

Restaurant with a charming and very quiet atmosphere; Very good food, presentation of the dishes and value for money. And the staff that attended us was very kind. We would repeat.

We enjoyed a tasty mid week lunch in the comfortable setting of the Houdini Restaurant at Hotel Marrol. The waiter was friendly, professional and attentive. The lunch menu was ample and good value for the quality. Diners had an option to choose from A La...Carte menu too. GF options available which I required. All dishes well labelled. We started with Foie Gras and a Leaf Salad, and followed with a veal dish and steak burger, both tasty and well presented. We enjoyed. We did not have a third course as we felt sufficiently full. We had a good Slovakian red wine to accompany our meal. Lovely atmosphere, nicely paced service for a leisurely lunch.More

We were told that Houdini’s was one of the finest restaurants in all of Slovakia. We began with a deconstructed tomato and buffalo mozzarella dish. The tomatoes included heirlooms, sundried tomatoes, an assortment of other tomatoes, herbs, and pesto. Wonderful! Light, fresh, and very flavorful....Braised lamb shank. Finely chopped carrots. Paired with Slovakian Danuj red wine. Finished with a tokaji. Overall, a very nice dining experience.More

Really good food, which everyone would probably enjoy. The service could be a bit better as sometimes it was a bit slow, but the atmosphere was cosy. Worth visiting

The service was excellent! Plus, the chef recommended dish was wonderful - lamb calf confit. Fall off the bone tender and delicious. Wine paired to perfection and a delicious dessert to top it off - rhubarb tort with strawberries. An outstanding meal!

We stayed at the beautiful Marl's Boutique Hotel. Although we had our breakfasts there,my wife and I decided to have one dinner in the restaurant. We were happy we did. My wife had the Shirmps and St. Jacob's scallops while I had the Brook Trout...Roll. I was very happy with the dish I had, especially the chef made the skin of the trout very crispy. It was delicious. My wife was also very happy with her dish. It's really worth a visit when you are in Bratislava.More

The hotel is a 5 min walk from the old town, perfect for a bit of peace. A shop 2 mins away for any forgotten essentials or drinks. The hotel is lovely, spotlessly clean. Great reception staff. Our room was great lots of nice toiletries,...robes, slippers , mini bar with wine beer, coke and free tea and coffee. The bathroom was beautiful, well organised, lots of towels and a full size hairdryer. Had a fab stay. Only negative the beds are very hard, and pillows awful, flat as a pancake. Sleeping was a bit of a problem. They need to sort out the pillows asap, I did read a previous comment about this and thought it must be a pedantic person. No! They are super bad, and only one pillow per room.More

We were staying at this hotel, and ended up eating at Houndinis 3 times as it was that good. We called in for lunch on first day and had pasta, it was excellent and service was great. We then went for dinner that night and...had the chicken, again food was fantastic and service was great. Then next night we looked at a few places but again chose Houndinis. My wife had the pasta again and it was excellent as was my meal. Service was great as usual. We had breakfast here as well as we were staying at the hotel and it was very good.More
