The pub is quite an experience! It must be old by the look of the black wooden floor boards, wooden ceilings and old furniture. It was busy with mainly young people. Most of them ate, what must have been a signature dish, a round loaf...of bread filled with a garlic cheese soup. We liked the atmosphere and the beer. The meal we ordered was supposed to be traditional, and the stuffed piroggies tasted good. The farmer schnitzel however, looked like a cordon bleu stuffed with a slice of ham. It was not at all what one would visualize from reading the menu. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the experience eating in this historic place.More

I like food at Slovak Pub, however yesterday the service was awful. It was 10 pm and I was finishing my beer with my boyfriend, the waiter came, clapped his hands shouting at us that the restaurant was closing. I am not ok with closing...a PUB at 10, but ok, restaurant policies, but you need to take care of your customers and clap you hands shouting is not the best way to do it. It lost two affectionate customers in a row, just for a very bad service.More

I've been there with my friends (we're Italians), and the food was incredible. A nice looking place, the staff is friendly and the bill was more than appropriate. The food was just SO GOOD we went two nights in a row! We got bryndzové halušky...(gnocchi), grilled meat, garlic soup, mutton gulaš and a platter of mixed traditional appetizers. Don't miss this restaurant if in Bratislava!More

During our stay in Bratislava we read about the place. First, we thought it had to be an expensive place just for foreign tourists, but regardless- after having seen photos of the interior we decided we just had to go there. And, late in the...night, just from the street, we saw a daily menu at fixed price, written outside the pub on a chalkboard. Next day we went there. There was another attractive daily menu outside, but when we asked the waiter, he denied us from ordering it without explanation, so we ordered Slovak plater for two and two local beers from regular menu. Important notice - the prices on the website are out of date and actually are a bit higher (like, in our case, 15 euro instead of 13,5). Food as well as the beer was really good, the portion was big (it seemed as three regular meals, not just samples). Staff speaks fluent English, paying with card is not a problem (well, in Slovakia it's not so obvious), the interior is really interesting. Unlike in a Slovak restaurant in the very Old Town, in Slovak Pub I felt relaxed and didn't feel the pressure to eat-and-go and they do not add the compulsory service fee/"tip". Summarizing, I have a bit ambiguous feelings about the visit. Really nice place with good food and beer and reasonable prices, but why do they use this kind of bait?More

We went there following an advice of a local and we found amazing local food in a very wonderful atmosphere. The staff is really nice. The food is Slovak based and it’s really tasty. I recommend the house beer.

I came visit with my boyfriend from England to show him traditional Slovakian food. However , what we have seen was horrific! Only people who probably visit to Bratislava first time they like because they don’t know how traditional food should taste like. We were...waiting for a meal over 40 minutes, we ordered ratatouille chicken and it was dry, rice felt like microwave made, what took nearly 45 minutes to warmed up rice??? I can tell what the bad restaurant is as I am from Zilina and I took my boyfriend from Manchester to the Bratislava first time after visiting Zilina and even he said awful, we didn’t get any apologies or even goodbye when we left. At the end before we finished our drinks they came to our table and told us we have to pay. Don’t visit, it is not worth for your money!!!More

The taste of bramborové halušky and the garlic soup served in a whole loaf of bread will stay with me for a lifetime + the pub is set in a place that, my guess, was once a church.

I had a great experience at the Slovak Pub, the food was amazing, big portions and delicious. The staff was super friendly and we could understand each other in English and also in German. The prices are very affordable. I would highly recommend!
