Right on Obchodna. A very large traditional Slovak restaurant. Many little rooms spread out over the restaurant. Wood burning fireplaces, wooden furniture, traditional decor! We stopped by to get out of the cold. We enjoyed the Bratislava bean soup, homemade chicken noodle soup, and Zloty Phzant beer. The soups were delicious and filling. The beer refreshing and cold. Just a note if you want bread, you pay extra, so ask the waiter to remove it, or you pay for it. We enjoyed our first time here more, it may have been our server, or the time of day we visited. Good if you want to sample the local fare.

If you are a tourist visiting Slovakia, and want to try tasty and decent traditional Slovak food in fair prices and very good quantities, then Slovak pub is the place to be. The same applies to drinks. Usually a busy place, but it has many different rooms with tables so you will find a quiet place every time! Has a seperate smoking area, where they also serve drinks and food, for those interested. You may visit other restaurants, too, but you will always want to go back to Slovak pub. The best combination of quality, quantity, cost.

A great little pub and great value for money if you want to try proper Slovakian food. Service left a lot to be desired - you seat yourself and there was only a dirty table which we waited 20 minutes to be cleared. Had to get our own menus and you couldn’t order drinks from the bar - had to wait for table service so we waited 40mins to order any drinks. Beer was great when it arrived though and the food was lush - very reasonably priced too. The garlic and cheese soup served in a bread roll was to die for.

What a poor example for slovakian food. My wife is slovakian and I visit Slovakia 4 or 5 times a year. But this place let's Slovakia and slovakian food down. Took half hour to be seated, another half hour to be served and an hour for the food to arrive. And when it did, I can only say I wish they hadn't bothered. My wife and her mother make fantastic slovakian food. This stuff they dished up was cold, uninteresting, you'd be better off eating slovakian food in the shopping mall, plus the staff couldn't care less.the place was cold. Cramped.chairs uncomfortable to sit on. We asked why it was like this. There reply was its "traditional slovakian decor" so the image they want to give is poor service, drab, cheap looking decor and serve cold factory made food. This was in way "homemade cooking". We left half of the cold food and waited for another half to pay the bill. Other couples and families were also complaining, 5 or 6 staff hanging around the bar / serving area.we had to wait for our specific waiter to pay and he wasn't available.so once we'd finished our meal we stood in line with all the other people waiting to pay. What a stupid idea.we actually walked down the road and ate at a local take away.if you go to Bratislava give this so called authentic slovak restaurant a miss

We waited almost an hour to receive our food. Came all the way here for garlic soup, but they don’t have any left. No waiters checking up on us, no one to take our order. No charge outlets to charge our phones after such a long wait. We wanted to make an addition to our order (fries, assuming they would be served in a reasonable amount of time) but the waiter just ignored us and said to wait. We ordered the chicken with mushrooms and the chicken soup, they were small portions and tasted bland. No amount of salt and peppers could save it. We had a desert the second one in the menu and it was very dry.

Hello All. There was a very strange incident in the Slovak pub today - 01/05/2020. The waitress with light hair about 50 years old with a colored tattoo on her hand took my first order but after that did want to serve me. When I reprimanded her she started to snap saying that she has only two hands and could not satisfy everybody and if I want I could try her hard duties by my self. So I won’t recommend to all my friends visit the pub. I believe it’s the pub’s HR department failure that they hire such an unstable personal to work with a massive flow of people. I’ve never been in a such situation.. usually waiters are very friendly bcs they want to get tips... but that’s not the case.. strange. Hope it won’t happen with anybody else.

This neat pub was within walking distance from our hostel (Hostel Blues) and was recommended to us for tasty, traditional Slovakian food. In addition to local beer, we ordered perogies with sheep's cheese, dill, and bacon, and were not disappointed! (The sheep's cheese is very sharp in taste, so would caution anyone who hasn't tried this before to sample a small amount first.) The service was friendly, there were menus available in different languages, and the food was quick to arrive. The pub was also selling hilarious t-shirts that made for great souvenirs of Bratislava!

This restaurant was recommended by our Slovak walking tour guide to try authentic Slovak food at a bargain price. Their proces were indeed great! At the Slovak potato dumplings, cheese and bacon, which was quite an acquired taste but once nonetheless. The kofola was a healthier alternative to cocacola and tasted free of artificial chemicals. Also had the dumpling dessert , which was like a main meal in itself! Thoroughly enjoyed all.

After looking at positive recommendations for this restaurant, we decided to try it for our first taste of authentic Slovak dishes. We waited over 40 mins after ordering for our food to arrive while watching people who ordered around the same time as us recieve their second round of dishes. When we recieved the food, we were a bit disappointed that the meat in both our dishes (goulash and lamb mutton) were dry and very salty. So salty, in fact, both myself and my companion had dry throats for the rest of the evening afterwards. The mutton meat was very chewy that it took the risk of a jaw-ache just to get through it! The halušky, however, was very tasty with delicious crispy bacon. The portions were also a good size. The prices were good, with a glass of wine costing less than €2! The service was average. The staff were not particularly welcoming, but they were not rude either. When entering the pub from downstairs, we were very confused whether it was open or not as all the doors were shut and their were no clear signs indicating that the restaurant was open. The restaurant was overall quite tidy and clean.

We came twice to this restaurant, at night which was lovely, the food was amazing. During lunch the food was lovely as well but the service was really bad, they had a room full of staff which looked at our table three times without approaching us, after we order, the food came without any problems but when we order the bill and we handed the money the staff was playing around without coming to the table. I had to approach them and give them the money, during which they weren’t very nice and one of the employees rolled his eyes at me. Too bad because we came back for the food and left on our last day with a negative perspective towards the staff.

The food is below average, and the waiters seem to hate their job. They announce this restaurant like a must visit in Bratislava because they serve typical Slovak food, but there are many other restaurants that sell Slovak food and will assure a much better experience. Rather visit "Bratislavský meštiansky pivovar", quality of the food is much better and waiters speak good English.

My wife and I had been recommended at our hotel to try the Bratislava Flagship restaurant but it turned out that a private party had taken it over, so the host recommended going around the block to the Slovak Pub. I frankly can't remember exactly what we had, but it was one of the "flights", maybe dumplings? Anyways, it was very tasty. We also split a liter of beer, again very good. The decor might be called eclectic with many portraits of important men of the past, maybe some saints, and at least one Jesus. Service wasn't bad. It seemed our waiter was taking care of lots of tables, but we never hat to wait too long for anything. If you're looking for something off the main tourist drag, and a bit into Slovak culture, I recommend the Slovak Pub.

This pub was recommended to us by our local guide. Food was typical, nicely served, but not our taste. The potato dumplings in sheep cheese were the nicest out of the dished we have chosen. Nice experience, but not our flavours. Food was fairly priced, we paid a total of 19€ for the soup in bread, the share plate and 0,5l of kofola

Staff of hotel I stayed recommended Slovak pub (Although their food isn't the best, it is worth a try because they serve Slovak dishes <-- this is what exactly he said !  ) I had mutton(or veal) with slovak potato dumpring & bacon. I might have ordered something strange and didn't enjoy it unfortunately. Mutton tasted dry and bacon was salty. Is it because it is bacon ? I had soup at Flag Sip Restaurant and their soup was also very salty. Is it standard in Slovakia ? These 2 restaurants have some connection because menu at flag ship restaurant mentions Slovak Pub. Slovak pub is very huge and it is enjoyable to walk around honestly but staff isn't so friendly.  Location is good. If you stay in centrarl, you can get there very easily.
