How is Zylinder - Cafe & Restaurant rated?

Yesterday, we have visited this restaurant with my girlfriend and we ordered mushroom soup, some traditional food also with mushrooms and panniered schnitzel. The food taste was awful and the presentation of the food wasn't priced worth it. And after all, there was a service...charge (4 EUR) on the bill!? I don't recommend anyone to have that bad experience.More

asty traditional food and quick attentive service. Fair price

Quick lunch turned into a fantastic 2 course meal of traditional Local food. Would highly recommend this place if your looking to be the non local in the restaurant. Have: Tafelpitz, but warning, not much vegetarianism going on

Too much food, so delicious!

We saw the menu outside and were hoping that it was an authentic restaurant. We had seen a couple of dishes pictured which we wanted to try. Once inside we were greeted by a very friendly lady, and it didn’t take long before our orders...were placed in front of us. It turned out I’d got my order incorrect, as it was not what I’d seen from the picture, though I realized it was my mistake. However, the dish certainly did not disappoint, as it contained a mountain of meet! It was knee of pork, and though it was incredibly tender and delicious, I simply could not finish. My wife’s Hungarian goulash also lived up to expectations. Lovely, lovely meals! And the staff were superb, too.More

Locale food and really local place

Friendly staff and good goulash and local beer. Extremely typical place ( also in the furnitures). For sure a bit old fashioned but this is what is giving the real taste of Slovakia. Much better than many other places posh posh and expensive, accordingly to...the style of the other big European capitals.More

Not bad.

The food was okish. Friendly crew. Nice view from the garden. The dishes were a bit old, maybe some refreshment would be nice. Didnt like the fact that "tip is not included" but they decided to put it on the bill anyway. I prefer to...decide myself.More

Lunch was n Bratislava.

We stopped here during a Viking tour excursion. We had a choice of a pumpkin ravioli or a half of a baked chicken. My wife had the ravioli and said it was ok but had no real pumpkin flavor. I had the chicken which included...rice and a cucumber and tomato salad. It was good but didn’t have much spice to it.More

Traditional Cuisine. Great.

Good traditional food. I really enjoyed everything. Service was great. Nice shady spot out of the sun when sitting outside. Recommend.

Very good tratiditional hungarian-austrian cuisine that is worth to visit and taste.

Very good traditional food, highly recommended to taste! Tafelspitz is a must, but others like veal snitzel and halusky were excellent too. Surprisingly stuffed pepper in tomato sauce was the winner. Staff was very polite. There are only two things to improve - beer service...and beer quality was bad, they realy need teaining on how to properly serve draft beer; the second negative - the restaurant area was full of flies, that were everywhere. I understand the hot weather, but there are solutions to avoid it.More

Good Food, So-So Service

This restaurant delivers great food with average to below average service. We dined here as part of a river cruise excursion group. The food and beverages were quite good, but the service was just okay. We had to "flag down" our servers more than once...during our short lunch. They offer shaded outdoor dining so take advantage of that if you can.More

Great schnitzel and ox tail

Spacious, restaurant with a vaguely antique feel in Bratislava’s old town. Excellent Mitteleuropa fare, including terrific schnitzel and ox tail. With lemonade, €52 for two.

Must try!

Amazing restaurant. So good we went twice during our stay. Friendly and speedy service. They speak English too. The Bryndza dumplings, grilled meat patties, duck confit, Hungarian goulash, and bone marrows were delicious. Huge portions and cheap prices.

Great Lunch

What a great place for an authentic Eastern European meal. They serve liquor as well with your meal and have an extensive list. Atmosphere is great and the service is very friendly.

Awesome lunch experience

I had bean soup Jókai style and Somlói halušky. Both looked wonderful and tasted delicious. Together with the friendly service I had a unique lovely lunch experience.
