New gastronomic concept, basis of which is homemade food based on traditional family recipes of 'dolnozemski' Slovaks. We bring you a new gastronomic concept in one of the oldest buildings from 14th century on Panska Street. Its basis forms homemade cuisine based on traditional family recipes of 'dolnozemski' Slovaks living in Romania, Serbia and Hungary, quality service and fair prices. In addition, the 'pub' aspect is preserved via drawing traditional Belgian beers. Our aim is for every customer to feel like a guest.

We were 4 people on a Friday night, wanted to eat local cuisine and this was the perfect place. The host is really friendly and attentive, the food was very well prepared (patè bio from the first accredited farm in Slovakia, dusk breast and snitzel). There was live music and at the end, we were served a strong palinka within frozen glasses. Excellent night out with friends and a very kind host, highly recommended!

We escaped from a downpour to take refuge in this restaurant and so it was filling up quickly with people who had the same idea. The staff coped admirably with what seemed to be an unexpected surge in orders and although advising us that the likely wait for food would be 30 minutes, it actually arrived in 15. A traditional menu meant that as first time visitors to Bratislava we took a chance and ordered whatever sounded good. I had the slow cooked pork with pumpkin cream, which wasn't at all what I expected when it appeared but was nevertheless delicious. A really enjoyable experience, it didn't matter at all that the lights occasionally cut out and crashes from the kitchen caused one of the waiters to sprint back and forth as if he was in training for the Olympics - it all added to the ambiance! A special mention to waitress Dada who smiled throughout and provided very friendly service.

Not far from the 'Man at Work' statue in Panska Street, you'll find this little treasure. A family run restaurant with exquisite Slovak dishes and a wonderful, helpful staff.
Thank you, Da Da, for being so cheerful and courteous. You did a wonderful job of looking after us, quickly sorting us out with a charger so we could give our mobile a boost while we eat our delicious meal. A long, draining day for the battery and we needed to be sure we'd have use of it later on return to Budapest.
Wild boar and dumplings - not a combination we could ever get at home and a real taste of local cuisine. We very much appreciated your positive attitude , Da Da, and your ready willingness to ensure we had a good visit to this lovely restaursant.
We enjoyed our trip to Bratislava a great deal and hope to return one day. If we do, we will certainly seek out Dalnozemska Krcma and hope to meet again.

Potrebovali sme narýchlo zabezpečiť večeru pre našu skupinu, vrátane 12 žiakov pri školskom výlete do Bratislavy. Vysoko oceňujeme krásne pripravené stolovanie, srdečnosť, ochotu a prístup personálu, vynikajúce jedlo a výbornú cenu. Bez váhania doporučím túto reštauráciu. Ďakujeme.
We have visited the restaurant as a group of 14 including 12 young, hungry teenage boys during a school trip. We were upmost impressed by efficiency of the catering and hospitality of staff. Charming staff was very welcoming and all requests were met with a smile and positive attitude. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be soon returning myself. Well done and thank you!

We had a wonderful time with bunch of friends in this nice and cozy restaurant. Good and tasty meals, very warm service - nice waiters and special care of owner of the restaurant made us feel special. Incredible wine list!! Strongly recommend this place

Great gastropub in the old town of Bratislava. We got steak tartare, smoked beef loin, chicken wings and a flank steak - perfectly cooked. Definitely try a palinka - quince was our favorite, and the unfiltered Staropramen topped up the meal. We’ll return.

I ate here for 2nd time. And it was even better than 1st time! Typical food as fish soup ‘halaszle’ or aspic a la Hungarian style. Just tasteful! It is obvious that the restaurant is very keen on quality ingredients and delicious food! Thank you for this lovely experience and looking forward to visiting you next time!

We stopped here on a quick tour of Bratislava, having been told this was more authentic than some of the more central restaurants closer to the main square.
Inside, it resembled your normal Eastern European tavern, the hostess was polite and welcoming and we saw a few familiar favourites on the menu. We had a couple of Leffe Brune’s to start the meal and went with the ‘Rooster’ Broth to start. I’m not sure if this is specifically rooster as opposed to hen, but the broth was a fresh, clean taste filled with noodles and root veg, with tender chunks of chicken. Rather good.
For main, we went with the Sarma and Pork Ribs Kalancha. Sarma is fermented cabbage wrapped around minced pork, rice, spices and with a traditional Slovakian sausage on top. The Sarma was excellent, really soft and flavoursome, with the sausage a definite winner with a really strong smoked flavour. The pork ribs were generous and fell off the bone. Accompanying it was again a generous portion of pickled accoutrements such as local mustard, sauerkraut and pickled chillis. The sharpness of these sides helped to cut through the saltiness of the mains, which you do have to expect when you go for smoked pork dishes!
There were a few times we had to ask for cutlery etc and prompt for drinks, but the service was friendly.
Overall, a really nice meal, a good window into local cuisine and somewhere we’d recommend.

We had dinner at this restaurant on a Friday night and, honestly, even though it was not crowded, the food was not as tasty as it should be. We are familiar with Slovak food (being one of us Slovak) and we found the halušky to be kinda weird, with the bryndza tasting different and the mangalica bacon was fatty and dry. The bryndza soup was tasty. We understand that they probably are a restaurant aimed to tourists, but the overall quality didn't please us.

Very bad food experience. Ordered a salad and the tomatoes were rotten, the meat was too dry. The photos of the dishes are not reliable. Can't recommend, really bad food at such an expensive price for the unbelievable bad quality.

We chose this restaurant for our company teambuilding. As we have not been there before, we were full of expectations. They prepared a perfect long table in the small court, the stuff and service were perfectly harmonized. they were there for us when needed, they were discrete (like not paying attention to themselves) . They were accurate in recommendation - especially wines.
the food was simple, not much combined, very delicious and nicely served.
in a nutshell - we strongly recommend this beautiful place in the historical centre and cannot wait to visit again.

I was a little concerned that the place was empty when I visited for an early dinner but there was no need - this place is wonderful! The two members of staff were really friendly and welcoming and offered great service.
There’s a few tables outside and inside there’s a a proper restaurant area behind the bar section at the front. The menu is decent and the time taken to serve is quick. The starter of smoked beef on homemade bread was incredible - well presented, large and incredibly tasty. The schnitzel was large and served very hot along with a sizeable portion of potato.
One of my favourite casual restaurants in the city and I highly recommend.

Attracted by the great reviews I tried this restaurant. Bad to look at, chilling photos of the dishes placed outside to attract chickens like us, overall mediocre food, at least the service was very kind. Traditional dumplings were an inedible mash, chewy ribs and tartare with ketchup and mustard worthy of McDonald's. A disaster. I would love to look in the face all those who, after eating here, even had the courage to review it positively... mah!!!

On a mild evening, we sat outside to eat at this central restaurant. We had the zander fish and the duck breast entrees, both good. Our waitress gave us a bit of a hassle because we wanted to use a credit card rather than cash, but the manager came by and smoothed things out. This traditional establishment was a nice place to eat in the historic center.

Trying to get Slovak fare during Christmas time was tough and this was what we ended eating at. In the heart of touristy Bratislava. And we were rather positively surprised though we ended up being the only Slovak in the restaurant!
Starters (tartare and duck carpaccio) were very good, though the tartare might have been a little spicier, obviously caring for the touristy taste
Mains were the beef stew and the dumplings. Taste was perfect but the halusky were not warm enough. To be improved
The staff was friendly and spoke decent English with the tourists
And additional comments: (I) the menu on the website is not totally up-to-date but a shorter list supports the homemade claim and (II) why have Belgian beer when you have so many Slovak alternatives (the tourists are here for the local experience)
