We went here 2 nights. The chicken Snitzel bwas great and is a huge portion. The menu is mostly chicken and pork but everything is good quality. We had 2 soup, 2 main courses, 1 dessert, 4 vodka, 4 coke and 4 beer; 1 night and tnhe total bill was less than 40 Euro - brilliant value.;

We chose this restaurant randomly and couldn't be happier with our choice. They offer chef's choice daily menus and both draft beer and Kofola coke, plus of course everyday menus. Everything is priced reasonably, made fresh and the whole atmosphere is very friendly and nice. Highly recommend if you're struggling to find a place with more traditional-ish Slovak food in the center of Bratislava. Thank you for a great lunch!

Great choice!

Although it was crowded, the service was quick. Everything we ordered was delicious and all the portions were very big. The prices were low. Definitely a value for money choice! We visited it twice just to eat once more the "halusky" dish, which we loved! What a great place!

Goulash exquisite

The place has a lot of charm, is very well decorated and although you have to go down stairs to go to the bathroom, they are very curious and beautiful (as well as clean). They have a set menu of food and a set menu of drinks, both very large. They also have a menu of suggestions from the chef. The goulash was on the menu of suggestions and looked so good that we ordered it all those who went to eat. The dish was great, I will definitely miss it when I am back in Spain. It carried spices but at its perfect point, it was not too spicy and was very tasty. It came with some kind of bread that was really good. And since the goulash was so good we ordered more bread so we could soak it and leave the dish clean. For dessert I tried Chocolate lava cake, which is a kind of coulant filled with raspberry jam. It was also very good. The drinks menu includes beers, wines and lemonades among many other things. I tried the red fruit lemonades and it was very good. The price was very good for the quality of the food and the customer service was very quick and friendly. I recommend it 100%.

Excellent - and so cheap!

We were staying just around the corner (Loft Hotel) so came here for dinner on a Sunday night. The prices were so cheap and food was really tasty. Wish we could’ve come back and eaten twice. Two people can eat really well here for under €15.

Good meal, very cheap

I ordered the schnitzel from patato battet with bacon and onion and that was so amazing. As a side dish I also ordered the slovak patato's, I wasn't a big fan of that but the portion was enormous. I realy enjoyed the tomato salad side dish. I also got 2 lemonades and only payed anout 10 euros for everything.

I ate a Pork Farmer Schnitzel to which I had chewed potatoes and rice added as a side dish. I only had with water for 15.40 euros for a real Slovak dish close to the center and first-rate service. Pretty local in a middle-class area of Bratislava just outside the historic center in a semi-central area

This place is a must visit stop in Bratislava. The owner is very friendly and the food is excellent and great value. If you need a good meal that is not over priced in a clean and friendly environment, visit Divny Janko’s.

Unlike some comments I read I can say that the kindness of the employees made the difference! The food was excellent and definitely of high quality! Perfect portions. As for the environment, it is simple but very refined and clean. Super satisfied!

- I played there as musician, they didnt pay me what we agreed on. Nobody told me why. After asking why the owner didnt reply. - whole Service in the restaurant was cold and terrible except one girl who brought me beer.

The best choice for local cuisine!!!

The best choice of restaurant during our short stay in the city! It is located relatively close to Michael's Gate, but outside the old city. It is located in close proximity to Grasalkovic Palace. Arriving at the dark deserted alley you might think you are wrong but the restaurant is there! The decor is reminiscent of a tavern for locals...which is true as most of the customers were locals! The cuisine was local Slovak! The staff helpful and friendly! The food is excellent and delicious! The prices are affordable! Definitely worth a visit! You'd better make a reservation!

Busy place but good food!

We were traveling to Budapest and stopped here for lunch. It was a very busy day and we were told the wait will be 30 minutes. However, we were seated in less time and the servers spoke good English. The food was good and we were served promptly. Parking is scarce, but we were lucky to get one.

I'm waiting more then hour after placed order. The serice is not intetested in expleing long service time. There is no free wifi for guests, beer is ok.
