Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant after seeing the reviews. Service was ok, nothing special and sorry to say the food wasn’t great either. The pulled pork starter was ok, my pork belly was dry. I have had miles better. Quite an expensive...meal overall. The pulled pork starter was just under 10 euros.More

We got to the restaurant and the first thing we noticed how cozy it was inside. The waiter recommended the Kamzík plate. It was something unique and new from what we are used to. We ended the experience with a traditional Slovakian dessert “Homemade crispy...pierogies” which is a thin pancake filled with jam. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience.More

I didn’t get what I ordered and paid for. When I complained, waiter was rude. I asked for mashed potatoes, they sent me boiled potatoes instead. Waiter said that was how they did mashed potatoes in Slovakia. Clearly a lie because you just posted a...picture on Instagram of the plate I ordered and on that picture it has mashed potatoes (like it is done in the rest of the world). I never thought I would paid to be tricked and humiliated.More

After the positive experience at the Koliba Kamzik on Michalska street I went to try its sister restaurant, the 'Chamois Cottage' (in the English translation) on Zelena street. This is the original place and only after its success another branch was opened. There is outdoor...seating as well, but the interior looks quite different, being on two floors and with a more modern decor, despite the fact that a gabled ceiling made of wood and straw had been added. All waiters were young men in black trousers and white Slovak folk shirts. Service was professional, but without the charm of the young lady at the Michalska place. Also here, contrary to the other restaurant, no complimentary glass of water was brought. The interior is less romantic, on the other hand the food came faster and the white wine nice and cool. The wine was an Irsai Oliver, an originally Hungarian variety with a muscat flavour, from the Malokarpatska region). A good option to try the most famous Slovak speciailities is to order the 'Kamzik Tanier' (the Chamois Plate). It includes Bryndza Pierogi (Bryndza Cheese Dumplings), Bryndzové Halusky (Bryndza Potato Gnocchi), Strapacky (Potato Gnocchi with Sauerkraut), Pecena Klobaska and Slanina (Sausage and Bacon, both roasted) as well as Kysla Smetana (Sour Cream), with Chives on top. It was well done, although I have to admit that Slovak cuisine is probably not my favorite of all.More

Lovely experience at this traditional Slovak restaurant. There is a great variety of food and beverage, knowledgeable and welcoming staff, cosy environment and nice background traditional music. The prices, although perhaps slightly higher than the average, are worth it.
