I was very pleased with the taste of my dishes! I chose from the menu of the day. Zucca soup(pumpkin) was nice and creamy. Pumpkin tortellini were delicious and I also tried gnocchi which were great too. I noticed that our chef was native Italian....High variety of pasta dishes in the menu, and enough vegetarian options. Service was nice and fast.
Cheap and tasty lunch! (4-5€ per main dish)More
A family restaurant of Italian type in the heart of Slovakia is rather surprising but possible. The actual building is traditional Slovak, but menu and the chef are totally Italian.
In order to match local purchase power the recipes are cooked from locally available ingredients...(tomatoes in Bystrica cannot be as good as those in Italy), however the result when compared with the price tag is more than very good.More
I have eaten there at least half a dozen times. In the kitchen is a real Italian chef and if you order a la carte, you won't be disappointed. It will be good. For lunch, all Slovak restaurants offer a complete meal for a very...low price. So La Secchia tries to do the same but I find their daily menu a bit disappointing. Usually a soup and a choice of pasta dishes or just a salad dish. When choosing soup and pasta, there is no greenery so it does not make for a balanced meal. The dining room is simple and very small but when the weather is warm, the terrace in the back by the running brook can be quite pleasant for a meal or just coffe, beer or wine..More
