The most impressive thing about the New York café is the building itself. The ornate ceilings and beautiful architecture take us back to a bygone age. The food is very good and the service of a very high standard (although a smile or two from the waiters might be nice!). Even the classical music being played by the band was... More

I had a quick dinner on the cafe side not the fine dining area. Had Hungarian dish although I would say this restaurant caters to tourists so if you are not a cuisine adventurer you will be safe. Service was excellent though prices were a bit on the high side compared to other restaurants in the area but still very... More

My wife insisted that we go. I found the restaurant overly touristy. Not my favorite environment. The facility has been restored to its former glamour and its worth the visit to see its splendor. The food is OK and the prices are high. It's non stop people some dressed like they just came from the gym. I had a salad... More

Had to went in to see itr! it is pretty beautiful and elegant! a journey to the past Expensive, but not as much as should be expected. Anyway only had a melange, typical cafe with milk and honey, very well elaborated and presented with exquisite cookies. But breakfast seemed to be worthwhile trying. It is glamorous, but very client democratic... More

Lucky enough to stay at this beautiful hotel, booked in for breakfast in the cafe on our first morning. All staff were welcoming and looked after us during our quick visit. We opted for the breakfast buffet - 25 euro all you can eat. A bit pricey, but for a famous cafe with amazing art and culture and a beautiful... More

Tasting menu is exquisite and beautifully presented. I did not choose to go with the pairing wines but, on reflection, I probably should have.

Very nice and upscale in the Boscolo Hotel but has separate corner entrance. Very elegant. Had a hamburger. Not the usual American hamburger but very good.

We visited here on the last day of the hen weekend. Wow! How beautiful. Words cannot describe this place. The food is amazing (we had only tea and cake as we were so full from the whole weekend) and they were incredible, but we saw the meals other parties were being served - just wow! The architecture is beautiful, and... More

We had an absolutely wonderful experience during our Christmas Markets trip. Our guide called ahead and they graciously reserved a table for us for a late lunch. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was delicious. The service was good. We were lucky enough to be there while a three piece combo played Hungarian music. Most delightful! All in all... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
