Great cakes, ice cream and drinks. Nice atmosphere with the live band and the beautiful decor. We reserved a table in advance, and would recommend this to others visiting the cafe in the weekend. The prices are high, but you get value for your money.

I cannot fault the New York Cafe for its stunning setting and ambience. I don't think I've been somewhere so opulent and stunning to look at in a long while. The string quartet were brilliant, and added to the atmosphere. My New York Cake Selection...More

A beautiful place for a coffee break, high prices for Budapest. I had a full chocolate menu (hot chocolate + chocolate dessert) and it was very good but pricey ($19).

Very entertaining. More than just a place to stop and have a coffee. A small line to get seat. A beautiful location.

Had to go here just to admire the opulent traditional decor. Very expensive, but worth it, just to admire the surroundings!

This is the one place everyone should visit, if only for a coffee. Stunning place and good service. We didn't feel rushed and were encouraged to look around and take photos.

District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses
the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and
colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in
an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes
and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic
crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of
the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in
Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly

I wouldn't attempt it as previous people have said it is quite busy and the turnover of patrons large. The only thing I would suggest is to obviously ask you make get away with it from the downstairs room.

I wouldnt have taken my sons at her age but perhap a visit early in the day when it is not so busy for both her, the staff and other patrons. Enjoy the wonderful food - not just the cakes.
