I stumbled at this place and decided to go in. It’s very nice inside and decided to have some cakes and coffee since I already ate somewhere else. My waiter was excellent he was great and it was his first day on the job. I...was very impressed with the service and told him that I’m coming tomorrow for breakfast and most likely every day that I’m in Budapest and buy some chocolates for my friends before I leave. I asked if I needed reservations for breakfast to get the same table. He told me no it’s not needed. So I left very satisfied and could not wait to return the next day. The next morning I go back and the hostess tries to seat me in a crowded area. I told her it’s not where I want to be and I would like the same table I had the day before. The table was occupied and I told her that’s fine I’ll come back in less than half hour. When I came back the same hostess was there. I told her that I’m back is my table free now because I told her to reserve it and she said no need. When the hostess tried to seat me not in my table that I asked for even though it was free she tells me it’s reserved. I was how is that possible I was just here and I told you I’m coming back when the table is free and you said you will hold it. And now I see it’s empty with a reserved sign on it. The women was a complete incompetent idiot why this nice place would hire someone like that in a upper class place I have no clue. One thing for sure I will never come back.More

I am the last person to leave a negative review but the service was shockingly bad. I didn’t like my meal so I was told I could exchange it for another; my new meal never came and when I asked they told me sorry the...kitchen is closed. We asked for butter several times (never came) and then were given the wrong bill twice with no explanation. The language barrier was indescribable, Budapest is the capital of Hungary, you’d think they can communicate with their visitors. Horrible service, bad attitude from waiters.More

There was a long line of people waiting to get in, but once inside I realised that most of the tables were empty. I wondered why they were letting people wait when there was actually plenty of empty tables, but I soon discovered why. The...service was so incredibly slow ‘ in spite of a large number of staff - that there was no way they could have coped with more guests at one time. I was eventually seated, then waited ages to order, then ages again to actually get my Dobos cake and my coffee. Nice but not nice enough to wait that long for. Then there was an even longer wait to get the check. I had to ask for it three times before it actually arrived, and meanwhile there were people standing there waiting to grab my table. I was expecting great things, I was disappointed.More

Delightful coffee house. Great coffee. Great selection of cakes and pastries at a reasonable price. Loved the interior and its chandeliers. Yes the service wasn’t quick but this isn’t a fast food place, you have time to enjoy the experience. Tables were spaced for social...distancing, unlike some nearby establishmentsMore

Terrible service and not very good food, long waiting time but good coffee. Nice place but not much more than that. Bad personal, quiet expensive.

There a 1 hour line to get a table even if half of the tables are empty. It makes no sense that people have to wait outside in the cold. it seems they just want to create the line (which is incredibly slow) so that...people passing by see it is a popular café. This is not the right way to treat customers. Terrible experience.More

You will be instructed by the sign in front to wait outside before you will be escorted for the seat (I do not know how this is working in the middle of the winter). After this all is easy and really nice. Very 19th century...interior and good coffee plus very very good sweets (you have sour options as well) Very professional staffMore
