Last night my husband and I stopped here for a drink, as our hotel is only a few metres away. I sat outside whilst my husband got us drinks. He came back and said she must be the grumpiest woman he's ever come across. Besides telling him they only have one kind of Dry White, which is not the case... More

Wessellenyi Utca is one of the best party streets in the Jewish Quarter ( District VII ) and is a street teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants. We had already been to a couple of ruin pubs before we dropped into here,we know this is a good bar as on previous visits we have been here and had a great... More

Visited Galeria as part of an ongoing odyssey to find the best chicken wings and fries in Budapest. On this part Galeria performed well with well cooked chicken and a spicy sauce that certainly had enough bite to it. Fries were hot although nothing special, however the wings and sauce were excellent. On the downside the range of beers etc... More

Fell upon this little restaurant by accident, however by far the best burger I have ever eaten, not cheap eats but worth that little bit extra. Good atmosphere and great staff

We have visited here every year for the past three years and this year will be our last. We rent an apartment close to here so it is convenient. However, the servers were to busy visiting at the bar to attend to the clients. Also, the food was not as good as pervious visits. To top it off when we... More

The service was respectable. The food was not good at all. The salmon and pasta tasted like canned salmon in milk with cheese thrown on top. Very little meat but lots of bun on my hamburger. The location and atmosphere are nice. It is located in the ruins pub. Pricey for the location and being in Hungary. Maybe they appeal... More

Came across this restaurant looking for a place to have a quick lunch since we were in a hurry. One of the waitress was completely rude and non helpful at all. We ordered 2 soups and 3 burgers. After 45 minutes 2 burgers came and no soups. When we asked how long it would take for the next one they... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
