If you feel like eating some hummus on the spot or purchasing for takeaway, Hummusbar is the best in the city. Their seasonal drinks are great as well.

I truly love it here and visit once or twice a week. Food is really flavoursome, i am vegetarian it's great to have so much choice, although plenty for meat eaters too. Staff are great, really relaxed and friendly. Very good value.

This place was an especially good find, we ended up eating there twice during our stay in Budapest. Both times we were kindly seated and served even though the place was packed, great service! The food was never a disappointment and the portion sizes are more than one could eat in one go. Great place, great food, definitely worth another... More

My son and I were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel on the river and were looking for a change from Hungarian food. I looked up nearby restaurants and found the Hummus Bar. We were a little sceptical at first as my daughter lives in Beirut and have travelled to Lebanon, Hordan and Syria. One of my favourite foods has always... More

Thanks nsojer, Happy you loved the food, specially as someone who actually ate this type of food or similar food in its origin countries. We do believe that we got as close as possible to the original tastes and we know it and upon which we grew up. Ill probably not in the right position to say this, but I... More

It was our second day in Budapest and after full day of tiredness we were very hungry and couldn't decide what to eat. So finally we thought of looking for a falafel place and we actually found this place called hummus bar. Thanks ankeet, Happy you liked the food! It would be very helpful if you could tell me on which day you visit us and just to clarify which branch it was.. as I'm not sure you are talking about oktober 6 branch. It would help a lot because i want to know who was your waiter and send him home!... More

The concept and idea of the humus bar is great. Fresh baked flatbread herbs humus spices oriental flavors that's the idea. But the execution was not what I expected. The bread was yummy but the humus was a little bit flavourless. No salt no spice no lemon no garlic no herbs - no individual signature of the chef. Same with... More

Hello Felix, We try to keep our food as original as possible without all the "signatures of a chef", as they are local chefs.. We love our hummus and the falafel as it is exactly how we know it :) Sorry you didnt feel the same. hummusbar handmade, heartfelt More

You can't go that wrong with falafel and hummus, but here they went pretty good with it. The dish goes very well with the cozy feeling of the place. Worth paying it a visit.

Description
We believe in curiosity and the pursuit of new experiences, a journey that leads to far lands and distant times. Since the beginning of time, food has been the most vital necessity for survival and besides that, a main source of joy. This is one of the few things that never change. Food is the oldest venue which brings worlds together. The first hummusbar was opened in 2005, and since then, our restaurants have become a part of the city with several locations. We are present in the most desirable spots of the urban scene with a boutique flavour to our food and our sites. Our food is unique by its simplicity. We use quality ingredients, our dishes are homemade, fresh and nutritious, based on ancient recipes. We keep our atmosphere humble and welcoming. Everyday, we work to remind our guests how simple a thing can be to enjoy life. We are a growing chain in Budapest, Hungary with our eye on the european market.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
