As walking through the streets of Budapest, the sign hanging outside Frici Papa's caught my eye. It was a simple authentic atmosphere. I ordered the spinach dish and it was just what I wanted, something warm & healthy. The waitress was friendly and welcoming to...this foreigner.More

The welcome is warm ! You feel like in your grandma’s house, the food is very tasty and very cheap ! We ate twice a week ! I recommend this place !

Lot of delicious, typical hungarian, "homemade" dishes. Fullfilled with people (not typical tourist place), very affordable (or even cheap :)). Very nice lady took care of us, they have menu in several languages (polish too), suggesting portions for kids and adults. Will be back for...sure :)More

Went there today and had a schnitzel with fries. The fries were far from crispy (which is sometimes considered normal around this region) but after a complaint they were changed for mashed potatoes. In total I paid about 8 euros for a schnitzel (or actually...2), mashed potatoes and 2 ColaMore

Restaurant full of people, typical Hungarian food, very low prices, very good combinations, 100% recommended, fast, generous portions and palinka.

I think it’s a very typical hungarian place. We went on a Tuesday night without reservations and found a table right away. The service was really fast and the food was good, big portions and cheap! (Note: you can only pay with cash (hungarian currency...and also euros) of course they tell you this when you enter the restaurant.More

The food was cheap and it cams fast. But the staff was very rude (the main waitress turned her back on me saying I couldn't pay separately, and then was sarcastic), barely spoke english. Also it was before 22h and they were already closing the...kitchen. I wouldn't suggest going thereMore

We were recommended by a local to visit this place and to try some of the local delicacies. Easy to get to and prices were reasonable. Our waiter was also very pleasant. Unfortunately our food was not very pleasant and we were bitterly disappointed by...the quality of the food.More

DO NOT EVER CONSIDER TO EAT AT THIS PLACE! If only a ZERO-star rating is possible. 1. We spent around 4,200 Ft and we gave the cashier a 20,000 Ft (yes, we're 100% sure about that), meaning that we should've received 15,800 Ft back. The...thing is after we got home, we realized that it was only a 10,000 Ft, a 500 Ft and some coins. Yes, you read it right. FIVE HUNDREDS. Instead of FIVE THOUSANDS. Of course we both admit that it partly was our mistake that we didn't check thoroughly how much money we got in return. This is our first time in Hungary and we're not familiar with the Forint. What we saw as a 5000 Ft was actually a 500 Ft, we both missed to see the third and the last 0. Anyways, still, how could that be possible?! I used to work as a cashier, and never in my life did I take €5 when it's supposed to be €50. Watch out! If this happened to us, it might also happen to you. 2. Food wasn't tasty. The service was quick, but for us, it's not a plus, because undoubtedly the food was just quickly warmed up in the microwave. The white rice tasted like it had gone bad. Overall, the food didn't look (more importantly, didn't taste) appetising. 3. The waiters were not so welcoming, let alone friendly.More
