Arrived at 19:00 without reservation. Just in time, because half a hour later all tables where taken. Food was superb. Pizza's from original stone oven. I had the steak on rocket salad of a very good quality. A must visit restaurant.

We stumbled across this last night while looking for a place for dinner and was immediately attracted to the vibe. Although we had no reservation on a Tuesday night and restaurant on main floor full, the waiter kindly offered us a table downstairs and mentioned there was a big group due to arrive in half an hour. We were pleasantly... More

As a long time fan of sea food in bouillabaisse-cioppino etc this cartoccio was far superior. Their pizzas are excellent. A very appealing location in every way

We were met by a pleasant host who made an effort to provide us a table even though we had no reservations and the place was packed. The menu is set out in Italian (with translations) on true Italian fashion. The restaurant is large and with a downstairs which is less noisy. The food is good and lines form at... More

The food was very delicious, the restaurant is clean and looks great, but the service is one of the worst I ever had. We was the only guest during the whole dinner, and five waiter standing together around the bar talking. Apparently just the kitchen likes working here.

Nice ambiance, good menu selection and wines. Spinach ravioli was good but my branzino was just average. Reasonable prices and decent service. Presentation was good. I noticed a post further down where management replied about pesto being a strange request. Pesto is one of the most common sauces to have in an Italian restaurant. If you are a genuine Italian... Thank You for Your review I would like only to explain that pesto of course is the basic for Liguria and not for Tuscan but ask pesto with bread and carpaccio from my point of view is not the best choose and anyway it' s always respectfully to choose from the menù. If all the guests can choose what they... More

Lovely restaurant, we had the pizzas and a calzone which tasted great. Reasonably priced and a nice change from traditional Hungarian food. Wine was a bit expensive but great beer!

One of the best restaurant I've been to. Tried to order their foie gras and I was totally amazed how it easily melts inside my mouth. There were no signs of regret on coming into this place bc they have great Italian food, welcoming staffs and wonderful place. Definitely recommended!

Dined with friends here, the pizza was very good and so was the pasta dishes our friends ordered. It seems to be a favorite of the locals, the hotel we were staying recommended the pizza here. The service was very good and the server spoke English.

Very pleasant atmosphere with a nice antipasti selection together with a good assortment of meat, fish, and pasta mains. Pizzas here are very good. Careful of the calzones, though, because they are huge (but ideal for two to share). Cordial service, major credit cards accepted, service included. Reasonable prices.

Thank Alan R

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
