Kasca Restaurant is the best restaurant in Budapest. We had an absolutely fantastic evening on the 28th April 2017. A beautiful meal, in this lovely authentic Hungarian restaurant, superb live music by virtuoso violinist and piano player. All served by Mr Antal Tibor and his wonderful staff. Don't miss this experience. Highly, highly recommend. Carmel Gray (Ireland)

We didn't make a reservation but arrived after 7 on Thursday night and were pleasantly greeted and seated shortly. Live gypsy music added ambiance to the beautiful, historic surroundings. I ordered the chicken paprikash which was sublime! Just like Grandma used to make. Everything was executed perfectly and presented beautifully. What more can I say? Just GO. This is the... More

The staff in the restaurant were superb and very attentive. The food was exceptional we all had one of the duck specialties and to say it was as good as anything I have tasted in Hong Kong is no exaggeration. The highlight was however the entertainment by Sigmund and Heshvan, marvelous.

We (Catalan/Spanish & German) spent 5 days in Budapest and went to various restaurants for lunch and dinner. We believe that the "Kacsa" is probably the best restaurant in Budapest. The style of the place is classical-posh, including piano and violin players - but not nerve-racking at all - rather pleasant, in fact. The service is impeccable. I couldn't say... More

We ate here on my first night in Budapest with my mother. The restaurant decor is elegant, service impeccable, violinist and pianist captivating and the food sublime. We opted for the 3 course set menu. We were brought covers of dips and toast which were delicious. We both chose the soup followed by the pork medallions. With no room for... More

Dear Tibor Antal. I had the privilege to dine in Kacsa back in 1990 & 1998 and it was very enjoyable. We enjoyed both our food and libations and the atmosphere was great. I don't know if ownership/management has charged since my visits at that time, but judging by the 97% approval rate the quality of Kacsa seamed to have... More

Kacsa Restaurant was recommended by one of the desk managers at the Hotel Victoria who then arranged a booking for us. We arrived on a cold and chilly night to be greeted by a warm and friendly staff, in a small but comfortable environment. As we walked through the entrance foyer, violin and piano playing in the background made us... More

Located on the Buda side, very close to the river, (across from parliament) and convenient to the 19/41 and 4/6 tram stops at Margit hid. (Bridge). The restaurant offers a slower pace from yesteryear, with elegant furnishings and super professional service. The menu offers a good selection of Hungarian cuisine, including duck, game, "Grey" beef, fish and chicken. I went... More

Description
The 'Kacsa' (Duck) Restaurant is situated in Buda in the heart of Vizivaros spreading at the feet of Castle Hill on the corner of Fo and Kacsa streets. Vizivaros (Watertown) ows its name to being part of the strategic waterways in the Roman times with its vivid harbour and bustling commerce. It still preserves the atmosphere of the old times with narrow alleyways in many places. The restaurant having been in operation for more than fifty years is established in one of these tarnished buildings. In 1987 it was the first restaurant in private ownership in Budapest.

We offer typical Hungarian dishes beside the main specialities of the restaurant, the famous duck meals, which are served with an excellent selection of wine exclusively originating from Hungarian wine-cellars.
70 Different courses can be found on the menu from cold starters to desserts, among which 9 are duck specialities. Live gipsy music provides a memorable experience every night together with the intimacy of the dinner.
The kind and friendly staff, the beautiful cover, live music and the elegant setting create a splendid atmosphere for consuming a family, a romantic or a business dinner as well as a meal with your friends.
Visit our restaurant and make sure in person that it is not by chance that this restaurant is listed to be as one of the best of Fine Dining Restaurants.
