We went to the Café Kor for lunch on a very cold day in November and asked for a very hot bowl of soup. What we got was one of the best bowls of soup we had in all of Budapest—a Hungarian bean soup with...More

If your looking for authentic Hungarian food with a cozy environment and excellent food and service this is it. We almost all ordered the same dish, Chicken Paprikas, but we added a Beef Goulash to mix it up. We took the waiters wine suggestion as...More

Preferred by locals and tourists in-the-know. Traditional hungarian food in an understated old chic atmosphere.

Really nice smallish restaurant, great atmosphere, lovely staff, very near St Stephen's Basilica. Good value and huge portions. Bit like a Parisan bistro. Good food, nice wine and good value. Bit more expensive than some places but better food than most. Do book, as even...More

Taken here for lunch by our daughter who was a bit concerned about other reviews. She need not have worried as the food, service and ambience were great. The typically Hungarian dishes that we chose were tasty and well presented and the house red was...More

A tiny yet very good restaurant in downtown Budapest. Good atmosphere, very good selection of dishes, prices a bit high but OK in the neighberhood. Good and elegant service. You should reserve in advance to make sure you have a table. Fruits for dessert: don't...More

Stopped in on a November Monday without a lunch reservation. Was seated immediately. The dining room is spare, but cozy. The service is professional, but warm. Was offered a printed menu, but the numerous daily specials were hand written on butcher block paper on the...More

District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube,
with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The
Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica
stand out as two of the finest examples of
architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for
more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval
city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while
the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention

I don't know if you can book - we had a party of 4 on a Friday night, and were able to be seated within 10-15 minutes. We arrived about 9:00 p.m. at night, though, so rather later in the evening.
