Before you arrive be aware, no credit cards other than American Express! That is very important and they really should have told us upfront! Overall, nice environment, cozy. We arrived without reservation and they offered a little table upstairs alone next to sound control. At the beginning looks a little awkward but at the end we had a very nice... More

Have been going to cafe kor for many years. The owner is always hands on and strives to provide excellent food and service. Love this place when I am in the city. A late lunch is great as the lunch crowd is gone and I can linger over my meal and great coffee. The food is always cooked perfectly and... More

just got back from lunch at Kor, the place I've been visiting for many years at least once when I'm in Budapest. Do I consider it to serve the best food in Budapest - not necessarily, but it is consistently good. Doesn't have much ambiance, it's more of a homely place, full of regulars. You simply should see how many... More

So, first of all, the service was very polite, but yet authentic. The place has a lovely atmosphere and I could certainly see myself enjoying one glass of red too many. Sooo I guess the elephant in the room is the food. The goose liver was perfectly fried and the potatoes and apples were cooked very well. However my recommendation... More

We had a wonderful evening on Thursday 09, our first day in Budapest. Really good food and lovely service (our waiter was "Gino"), they took our coats and had always nice attentions to details. So we decided to go back today, our last evening of our trip in Budapest. Unfortunately, service was really bad this time. First of all no... More

The staff was so helpful and directed me to their local goulash with cabbage. It was delicious. The waiter actually brought a napkin and placed it around my neck so I did not get goulash sauce on my white sweater. Or maybe he could see I was messy. Surprisingly- the sparkling wine was amazing. Great local spot- you will not... More

We visited this restaurant with our family. Excellent Hungarian national dishes, attentive, polite and helpful staff. Highly recommend to try the goulash.

We visit this restaurant at least once a month and I yet to discover any flaws. The service is very attentive, friendly and professional, the food is very good quality, good daily offers, hungarian dishes. Good wine selection as well. Reasonably priced.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
