Nice Italian restaurant where "food" means "good food". Not packed, dishes take the right time to come out from the kitchen because good food must be respected and properly cooked. Lovely to hear the cook proud of his creations. Service good. Some more happiness could be a 5 star plus!

We walked pass this Italian restaurant on our way back to our hotel. Placed looked very authentic and the menu looked good. We went in and there was more Italian speakers than Hungarian, always a good sign in an Italian restaurant. The waiter recommend a wine that was very nice and we shared a mushroom and prosciutto pizza. It was... More

Interior looks good, we liked the atmosphere of the place except that Italians were watching soccer game on TV. Waiters were polite, servive was fast. We had salads, tuna was can-taste, Ceasar was average, vegatables were good in them, portions were big. I do hate when they charge service fee in restaurants and they do here. Overall experience of ours... More

After a disappointing lunch of local dishes on our first day in Budapest, we decided to dine Italian. We had a plate of soup each, to warm ourselves from the -7°C outside, and decided to share a pizza after that. My wife had a delicious home-made lemonade and I had a glass of wine. Everything was great and the price... More

This restaurant is also called the Da Massimo Trattoria. It offers Italian food but, as I found out when I dined there recently, of the poorest quality. Service was adequate and all the waiters spoke good English but it all went wrong when the food arrived. Pasta was bland and unseasoned, the veal totally inedible and not even looking or... More

We ended up in Ciao Ciao (aka "Trattoria di Massimo") purely by chance, as it was minus 6 outside. Not only was it the worst meal we had in Budapest - which otherwise was a great culinary destination - it was the worst I have had in the last 20 years of international travel (and that includes out-of-the-way places like... My husband and i were there on January the 1st. Tourists in Budapest having problems finding an open restaurant. It was late in the afternoon, we were very cold ( - 6° C) and very hungry. They took a long time to serve us and our food was cold. We ended up eating because we were very hungry, and tired.

Bland, poorly cooked food. Veal was inedible and the worst my friend had ever been served. Service ok. First wine ordered was not available. Next wine was good but expensive. Try any other restaurant in Budapest and you will not regret it.

Food atrocious. Service lame. Only exception the choice of wine. Otherwise overpriced, really soggy food.
